Tại KTX này, trong suốt những năm đại học, sinh viên còn được hỗ trợ toàn bộ học phí, tiền ăn và được đào tạo những kỹ năng cần thiết để ra đời.

Từ “khoa học” ở đây có nghĩa rộng mà Việt Nam hay dùng, như là có bạn đã nói về mình: “Nhà khoa học mà cũng làm thơ”. Tức là, luật gia cũng là nhà khoa học, kinh tế gia, nhà xã hội học, tâm lý gia… đều là nhà khoa học, không nhất thiết là chỉ người làm trong phòng thí nghiệm với kính hiển vi và cả lô ống nghiệm đủ màu mới là nhà khoa học.
Và người làm khoa học—đủ mọi ngành nghề — nói dối trong nghề nghiệp của mình là chuyện thường.
Ví dụ: Các nhà khoa học (“chuyên gia” về các sản phẩm GMO) làm việc cho Monsanto, hay được Monsanto tài trợ các chương trình nghiên cứu, hay không muốn động chạm Monsanto để sau này còn có thể vào làm việc cho Monsanto, hay còn muốn làm việc trong ngành nông nghiệp ở Mỹ… thì thường nói ủng hộ sản phẩm của GMO của Monsanto. Monsanto có rất nhiều quyền lực, có thể đì một chuyên gia cả đời nếu Monsanto muốn.

Bloomberg.com – Tri Tran was always looking for something better to eat than government gruel. He grew up in the desperately lean decade after the end of the Vietnam War, in the small city of Ba Ria, about 50 miles southeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Because his parents were public school teachers, they received discounts on rations of rice, root vegetables, and a paste made from sorghum, which his mother cooked together. The paste was barely enough to subsist on and gave Tran terrible digestive problems. So he, his older brother, Trac, and their father occasionally sneaked into desiccated rice fields to gather wild vegetables and, if they were lucky, paddy crabs.
Tran’s parents knew their sons faced limited prospects. Tran was only 11 years old in 1986, but he remembers failed escape attempts, brokered by shady operators who skirted the communist government’s prohibition on leaving the country. Once, the family stowed away in a canoe and paddled into the middle of Ganh Rai Bay to meet a larger boat that never arrived. Later, walking back from the bay after another failed attempt, they were caught by police and thrown in jail for 24 hours.

TTCT– Hẳn Henry Ford, ông chủ của Công ty Ford Motor, khi quyết định trả lương cho công nhân cao hơn mức thông thường ở thời điểm đầu thế kỷ 20, đã có những suy nghĩ thực tiễn về vấn đề này. Các lý thuyết kinh tế khác nhau cũng đã đưa ra nhiều phân tích về lợi ích của việc trả lương cao.

Năm 1914, Công ty Ford bắt đầu trả lương cho công nhân 5 USD/ngày khi mà mức lương phổ biến vào thời điểm đó chỉ khoảng 2-3 USD/ngày. Henry Ford tin rằng lương cao làm tăng sự ổn định của lực lượng lao động và giúp đỡ con người tập trung làm việc vì gia đình họ được hỗ trợ đầy đủ về vật chất.
Động cơ của Ford là gì? Sau này Henry Ford cho biết: “Chúng tôi trả mức lương như vậy để đặt công ty trên nền tảng lâu dài. Chúng tôi xây dựng cho tương lai. Doanh nghiệp (DN) trả lương thấp không có tương lai… Việc trả 5 USD/ngày làm việc tám giờ là một trong những biện pháp cắt giảm chi phí tuyệt vời nhất mà chúng tôi thực hiện”.
