Local media reported that Mat Troi Lon (Big Sun) Co. Ltd. planned to run the campaign between September 6 and 10 to promote a coffee brand.
Under a plan approved by local officials, the media company would send 20 people to downtown streets in T-shirts and shorts.
But after some locals complained, right on the first day, that the outfits were too “revealing” and “inappropriate,” culture officials decided to revoke the campaign’s license immediately.
Tran Dinh Hai, chief inspector at the city’s culture department, told Tuoi Tre newspaper that the company explained that it only “wanted to leave an impression.”
