Several buildings, construction sites and streets in Hanoi have been covered with the image of the national flag to cheer U23 team which advanced to the AFC U23 Championship final.
After Vietnam defeated Qatar in the semi-final match on January 23, tens of thousands of Vietnamese people took to the streets across the country waving red national flags, turning city downtowns into seas of red.
Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet announced it would paint the squad’s players on its planes if the team won in the final match.
People have different ways of marking the dramatic victory, but all feel very happy and proud of the team’s efforts.
A construction site on Nguyen Trai Street has been decorated with many red national flags. Meanwhile, a street corner nearby has also followed the suit with around 60 flags pasted on the wall.

Earlier, after the squad triumph over Iraq to go into the semifinal against Qatar, a high-rise building on Lang Ha Street in Hanoi was decorated with the system of led light to feature the national flag.
