Scientists have discovered 115 new stranger species in the Greater Mekong region, one of Asia’s biodiversity hotspots, in which 65 species have been found in Vietnam, while 33 others have been discovered in Thailand, Myanmar five, Laos 15 and Cambodia has seven species.

Fansipan mountain in Sapa district in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai has been covered with snow and frost on December 19.

The underground military operation bunker where the Vietnamese government worked during the American War in Thang Long Imperial Citadel has been opened to visitors for the first time.
The Thang Long Heritage Conservation Centre opened the bunker and exhibition about the general command headquarters on the occasion of 45th anniversary of victorious air defence of Hanoi during the American bombing raids of Christmas 1972.
The bunker was built in early 1965 by military engineers. They demolished the two-storey command building to disguise and cover the bunker. The bunker has three rooms, covering 64 square metres. The roof is 1.5 metres higher than the ground and has three layers to protect officers against falling bombs and rockets. It was supposed to be a shelter even against nuclear or chemical weapons.
Decisions issued during the 1972 air battle and supply routes for the south were from the site. The first sirens warning of US air force attacks were approved in the bunker.
After 1975, the bunker was largely abandoned until it was renovated in 2012.

Trong 3 ngày 06 – 08 tháng 11 năm 2017, Trung tâm Phát triển Sáng tạo Xanh (GreenID) phối hợp với Ban Quản lí dự án Năng lượng Xanh tỉnh An Giang đã tổ chức khóa tập huấn: “Kỹ thuật làm và lắp đặt đèn LED cho đội thợ tại địa phương thuộc 03 xã dự án” tại văn phòng dự án, thuộc thị trấn Chi Lăng, huyện Tịnh Biên, tỉnh An Giang.
Hoạt động nằm trong khuôn khổ Dự án: “Tăng cường tiếp cận năng lượng cho người nghèo chưa nối lưới ở các tỉnh đồng bằng sông Mekong của Việt Nam thông qua ứng dụng các giải pháp năng lượng xanh và bền vững” với sự hỗ trợ tài chính từ Tổ chức Bánh mì cho thế giới (BFTW) thực hiện tại địa bàn huyện Tịnh Biên, tỉnh An Giang, giai đoạn 2016-2018.
Mục tiêu chính của khóa tập huấn là đào tạo thành công 3 đội thợ làm và lắp đặt đèn LED nhằm tạo điều kiện thúc đẩy ứng dụng mô hình này trên địa bàn. Đồng thời hướng tới việc sử dụng hệ thống chiếu sáng hợp lý, hiệu quả, an toàn và tiết kiệm trên địa bàn 03 xã dự án. Hoạt động này cũng nhằm thúc đẩy thị trường đèn LED tại địa phương, giúp người dân chủ động hơn trong việc lựa chọn các đơn vị cung cấp, đảm bảo uy tín với giá thành phù hợp. Đội thợ địa phương là những người được tuyển chọn từ 03 xã đáp ứng tiêu chí về độ tuổi, kiến thức chuyên môn, sự đam mê và cam kết đóng góp cho cộng đồng. Khóa tập huấn do chuyên gia, Tiến sĩ Vật lý Nguyễn Văn Khải, một trong những người đi đầu trong kỹ thuật chiếu sáng bằng đèn LED tại Việt Nam trực tiếp hướng dẫn và giảng dạy. Phương pháp đào tạo được sử dụng xuyên suốt trong cả khóa là vừa học lý thuyết vừa thực hành trực tiếp, giúp các học viên dễ dàng tiếp thu các kiến thức được truyền đạt.
