UNITED NATIONS: The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday in response to North Korea’s latest ballistic missile test, council president Uruguay said on Sunday (May 21).

North Korea says missile test confirms warhead guidance

North Korea said on Monday it has successfully tested an intermediate-range ballistic missile to confirm the reliability of the late-stage guidance of the nuclear warhead, indicating further advances in the ability to hit US targets.

North Korea has fired an unidentified projectile, South Korea’s military said, a week after its latest missile launch.

South Korea’s Office of Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that the projectile took off on Sunday afternoon from a location near Pukchang.
