Ngày 23 tháng 07 năm 2018, công trình thủy điện Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy tại tỉnh Attapeu thuộc vùng đông nam Lào gặp sự cố vỡ đập. Lượng nước khổng lồ từ hồ chứa đã tràn xuống gây nên thảm họa kinh hoàng đối người dân vùng hạ lưu. Theo thông tin mới nhất từ Thời báo Viên Chăn (Vientiane Times), đến ngày 06 tháng 8 năm 2018, sự cố vỡ đập đã làm ngập 13 ngôi làng ở huyện Sanamxay, làm 34 người thiệt mạng và 100 người khác vẫn đang mất tích. The power grid as we know it began with isolated power generation systems across the world starting in the 1870s. The growth and unification of the systems into an interconnected AC power ‘grid’ helped raise the quality of life of people from all classes.
Direct Current Beginnings:
DC power systems dominated in the 1870’s and 1880s. “Small” systems were sold to factories around the world, both in urban areas, and remote undeveloped areas for industrial/mining use. Thomas Edison, Charles Brush, and Werner von Siemenslead the industry in DC systems. DC systems powered factories and small downtown areas but did not reach 95% of residents. BRATISLAVA (Reuters) – Slovakia said on Friday it would send its interior minister and police chief to talk to police in Berlin following media reports that a Slovak state plane was used in the kidnap in Germany of a Vietnamese oil executive who was then spirited back to Vietnam.
The Most-Hid party, a junior member of three-party center-left ruling coalition, has called for a parliamentary committee to investigate the case after a Slovak media outlet reported a Slovak state plane was used in the abduction.
