Bản tuyên bố chung của ASEAN đã được các ngoại trưởng thông qua trước khi hội nghị diễn ra và dự kiến sẽ công bố trong cuộc họp báo sau hội nghị. Tuy nhiên vào phút chót hai nước là Lào và Campuchia đã đổi ý khiến ASEAN không ra được tuyên bố chung.
