Foreign companies continue to lead efficiency stakes in Vietnam

A report on Vietnam’s 500 most profitable companies has found foreign enterprises have better profitability ratios than state and local private firms.
Their return on equity ratio averaged 26.4 percent compared to 24.2 percent for Vietnamese private companies and 17.6 percent for state-owned firms, according to the VNR Profit500, a listing of the 500 companies with the highest profits between July 2018 and June 2019 published Thursday. Vietnam rejects money laundering report as ‘inaccurate’

A report saying Vietnam tops a list of countries by dollar value in illicit inflows is ‘inaccurate’, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said Thursday.
Le Thi Thu Hang was responding to a request for comments on a January report by Washington DC-based think tank Global Financial Integrity, which said Vietnam tops the list of countries ranked by dollar value of illicit inflows in the 2006-2015 period at $22.5 billion. Theo Quyết định 35/2014/QĐ-UB, ngày 13-10-2014 của UBND tỉnh về lộ trình chấm dứt sản xuất gạch đất sét bằng lò thủ công, đến năm 2020, toàn bộ các lò gạch nung phải chấm dứt hoạt động. Tuy nhiên quá trình triển khai thực hiện ở các địa phương gặp không ít khó khăn.
