There are more than 3,000 rivers in Vietnam, provide resources to feed millions of people and bring livelihoods to hundreds of communities. When the rivers change, fishermen and farmers are the first to be affected. By September 2013, more than 800 hydropower projects were planned, more than 250 hydropower projects operated, and more than 200 hydropower projects under construction.
