Vietnam’s re-election at International Law Commission proves international community’s trust

HÀ NỘI – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn has highlighted the significance of Ambassador Nguyễn Hồng Thao’s re-election to the International Law Commission (ILC) for the 2023-2027 tenure.

Talking with the press, Sơn said following the Party and State’s policy of promoting multilateral diplomacy, Việt Nam not only successfully performed important duties as ASEAN Chair 2020 and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-2021 but also actively and proactively sent officers to work in prestigious international organisations. 

Ambassador Thao’s re-election to the ILC with 145 approval votes was evidence of the sound external policy of the Party and the State, and reflected the international community’s support and trust of Việt Nam, affirming the country’s enhanced stature and prestige on international arena.

Chau Ba Thao Company

Bac Lieu reported 291 positive cases within 24 hours, including 97 community transmission cases, raising the total number of infections to 6,200.

Gia Rai commune and Bac Lieu City are the two hotspots in the province. The hotbeds at Tan Khoi Seafood Import/Export Company and Chau Ba Thao Seafood Company in Gia Rai Town are the most serious.

The hotbed at Tan Khoi was found after a worker went to the Gia Rai medical center to have a health examination and tested positive. To date, 700 infections have been found.
