On this year’s World Water Day, it is important to highlight the importance of protecting wetlands, so that they can maintain their natural structure and way of functioning. Wetlands such as floodplains, marshes, mangroves and peatlands help decrease flooding by increasing the infiltration of excess water into the soil. Along coastlines, they can also act as a natural buffer and reduce the energy of waves and currents, reducing exposure to storms and surges. SINGAPORE – Singapore has seized 12.9 tonnes of pangolin scales found in a shipping container destined for Vietnam, the biggest seizure of its kind globally in five years, authorities said on Thursday.

The Earth Day Compostable Campaign to minimize the use of plastic bags and replace them with compostable bags made from corn starch has been officially launched on the occasion of Earth Hour by An Phat Holdings. It is estimated that dozens of tons of plastic bags will be replaced thanks to the campaign. Supermarket, restaurant chains and residential areas in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are working with An Phat Holdings to minimize the use of plastic bags. Discovering 100-year old Phu Lien meteorological station in Vietnam
Phu Lien meteorological station was originally built on Dau Son mountain in 1902. It has been used as an active observation station for over 100 years by the World Meteorological Organisation.
 Phu Lien meteorological station was first built in 1902 on Dau Son mountain, located in KIen An district of Hai Phong city.  The site is located at an altitude of 116 metres above sea level. It was built with a French architectural design
The meteorological station is regularly considered to be among the top 100 famous buildings that are over 100-years old in Vietnam. Aside from its renowned architecture, the building has proved crucial for scientific research and meteorological forecasting in the Indochina region.
