HÀ NỘI – The Secretariat of the Communist Party of Việt Nam Central Committee has issued a new instruction on the need to have Party cells in all private Vietnamese economic entities.

Instruction No 33-CT/TW highlighted Party and Government policies to make private economic entities into a driving force for the country’s socialist-oriented market economy. The document also emphasised the need to develop party cells and mass organisations in any economic entity operating in Việt Nam.

Party cells in private economic entities should adopt their own operation agenda in line with the conditions and characteristics of each type of enterprise. They must co-ordinate closely with the enterprises’ management boards and follow their day to day activities to ensure workers’ rights, obligations and interests are protected.

The instruction called on all Party cells operating in the political, social and economic fields to focus on finding new members to join the Party ranks. – VNS

  1. Really?

What private company owner/CEO would want to have a party cell in his company? So, would he still be the big boss? Or the party cell will run the show?

I wonder this kind of news would scare away foreign investors. We may see the immediate effect in the level of FDI this year, 2019.
