The rains in June 2017 helped cool down the land in the Delta. The Central Hydrometeorological Forecast Center said the floods this year may be a little higher than previous years.

Theo Quartz, Đài truyền hình CCTV của Trung Quốc vừa có bản tin thông báo, “trường học cực nam vừa được khai giảng ngày 1/9, chào đón 29 học sinh mới tại đảo Vĩnh Hưng”. Đảo Vĩnh Hưng chỉ là cái tên mà Trung Quốc tự đặt cho đảo Phú Lâm, thuộc quần đảo Hoàng Sa, nằm trong chủ quyền lãnh thổ Việt Nam. Theo báo cáo của Sở NNPTNT Hà Tĩnh, vụ xuân năm 2017 toàn tỉnh gieo hơn 58.000ha lúa gồm các giống lúa chủ lực Thiên Ưu 8; Bắc Thơm 7; P6; Nhị Ưu… Từ tháng 2.2017, tại một số địa phương xuất hiện bệnh đạo ôn gây hại lúa với diện tích lúa bị nhiễm bệnh lên tới gần 20.000ha, trong đó có 12.000ha lúa Thiên Ưu 8 bị mất trắng hoàn toàn.

June 19 (UPI) — The United Nations said 65.6 million people were displaced from their homes because of conflict and persecution by the end of 2016, which is an increase of about 300,000 from 2015.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Monday released its annual Global Trends study. Global emissions of greenhouse gases from the power sector are expected to peak in 2026, but will still be some way above levels needed to limit temperature rises in line with the Paris climate agreement, research showed on Thursday.

Overall, $10.2 trillion will be invested in new global power generation between 2017 and 2040, with renewable power sources such as wind and solar accounting for almost three quarters of that, a report by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) said.

By 2040, global emissions are expected to be 4 percent below 2016’s levels, but an additional $5.3 trillion investment in renewable power would be needed by 2040 to keep rising global temperatures below 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit).
