A survey conducted by Grant Thornton earlier this year found that the healthcare & pharmacy market is among the three business fields most attractive to foreign investors. The other two are food & beverages and retail.

Top attractions in the northern port city of Hai Phong

VietNamNet Bridge – Hai Phong is the main port of northern Vietnam and a commercial and industrial centre. It is the third most populous metropolis in the country.

100km from Hanoi, Hai Phong is a lovely city that retains a colonial look. The city is also known as ‘The City of Flame Flowers’ because most of its streets are lined with flame flower trees.

Hai Phong serves as a pleasant base when visiting other north-eastern spots such as Cat Ba and Halong Bay.

In Hai Phong, there are many places worth visiting and these include temples, shrines, pagodas and mausoleums. There is also a beach and communal house that tourists often frequent. Hue restores 100-year-old house for tourism

The authorities in Hue City have started to restore an old wooden house for tourism.

The garden house of Doan Kim Khanh on 145 Van Xuan Street, Kim Long Ward, was built in the 20th century.

It is highly regarded for cultural values with the old wooden beams. Some details have been changed in order to meet the modern lives.

Binh Thuan to build swimming pools for schools under BOT mode

VietNamNet Bridge – The BOT (build-operate-transfer) mode could be the solution for schools with tight budgets to build swimming pools to teach children how to swim.

The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has shown its determination to teach swimming to students as many drowning cases are reported every year. However, the biggest problem is the lack of pools, and  money to build pools.

The Binh Thuan provincial education department seems to have found the solution to this problem by calling for private investment. Nguyen Van Linh School in Binh Thuan province, for example, has borrowed money from the Binh Thuan Books and School Equipment Company.
