Từ lâu Nam Bộ đã là một bộ phận không thể tách rời của lãnh thổ Vịêt Nam, nhưng do tính chất phức tạp của lịch sử nên cho đến nay vấn đề chủ quyền lãnh thổ (territorial sovereignty) vẫn còn có những nhận thức chưa thật đầy đủ. SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Vietnam said it hoped China would show restraint in the South China Sea next year after a Chinese oil survey vessel and its escorts spent months within Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone in what Hanoi called a blatant violation of its sovereignty.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s raising of the ASEAN gavel last month signalled not only Vietnam’s commencement as chair of the regional grouping, but also the start of a critically definitive period for its foreign policy in the South China Sea.

2020 is set to be a busy year for Vietnam, with several force multipliers for its foreign policy. Beyond its chairmanship of ASEAN’s Vision 2020 goals – predominantly stability in the region – Hanoi will also balance a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and potential international legal action against Beijing. While such diplomatic responsibilities come with significant pressure, the opportune timing provides Hanoi a chance to engage the international community in its maritime security interests. U.S. issues final order on duties on certain steel products from Vietnam

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. Commerce Department said on Monday it had issued a final order imposing duties of up to 456% on certain steel products from South Korea or Taiwan that are shipped to Vietnam for minor processing and then exported to the United States.

The agency said in a statement that it had found corrosion-resistant steel products and cold-rolled steel produced in Vietnam using substrate of South Korean or Taiwanese origin had circumvented U.S. anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties.

New research shows that the increasing vulnerability of the Mekong delta to floods, salt intrusion and erosion is caused by insufficient sediment in the river not climate-induced rise in sea levels.

Published in the journal Nature Scientific Reports, the findings of the Rise and Fall Project at Utrecht University are clear: the growing threat to the Mekong Delta – and the communities, cities, rice fields and biodiversity that depend on it – posed by higher tides and salt intrusion is almost entirely due to the loss of river sediment because of upstream dams and sand mining in the delta.

Rising tides in the delta have major ramifications for flooding in subsiding and increasingly vulnerable cities, and river bank erosion. While sea level rise and climate change have received most attention in relation to the sinking and shrinking of the Mekong delta, the research shows that in the last 20 years, they have driven less than 5% of these trends.

“Trả lời câu hỏi của các bạn một cách kỹ lưỡng sẽ đòi hỏi các nghiên cứu hết sức kì công. Nhưng tôi nghĩ không nghi ngờ gì, khu vực xung quanh Hà Nội là một nguồn ô nhiễm không khí đáng kể và các chất ô nhiễm di chuyển tầm xa cũng góp phần gây ô nhiễm không khí ở Việt Nam.”

Dịch vụ Giám sát Khí quyển Copernicus đã tiến hành quan sát ô nhiễm không khí trên toàn cầu từ vệ tinh và dự báo chất lượng không khí toàn cầu kể từ 2003.
