WRI – The unveiling of the Sustainable Development Goals next week will be a milestone moment for our collective future. On September 25, the largest-ever gathering of world leaders will join together at a UN Summit meeting in New York to formally adopt Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a set of 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the center. The launch of the SDGs builds on the Financing for Development Conference in July where governments agreed to a renewed global framework on how to finance international development, and they should be followed by the adoption of a new global climate agreement in December. Taken together, these landmark agreements create breakthrough opportunities to transform economies and chart a new course for people and the planet—a future that’s more inclusive, more equitable and more sustainable. TT – Khu bảo tồn Anlung Pring (Campuchia) đang thu hút sếu đầu đỏ quay về bởi sự kết hợp hài hòa giữa phát triển du lịch với bảo vệ loài chim có tên trong sách đỏ.

The UN isn’t going to solve global poverty if no one understands what they’re talking about.

How do you turn dry UN-speak into something that ordinary people actually care about?

Project Everyone is an attempt to rebrand the new Global Goals for Sustainable Development—the UN’s vision for ending extreme poverty and tackling climate change by 2030—so that non-wonks start talking about it.

As the project’s website says:

If the goals are met, they ensure the health, safety and future of the planet for everyone on it. And their best chance of being met is if everyone on the planet is aware of them.

It’s not a simple challenge, when the goals are laid out in long, wordy, and fairly inaccessible documents. Sir Richard Curtis, director of films like Love, Actually, came up with the idea of the rebrand and turned to designers at Trollbäck + Co for help. NLD – Hàng loạt chính sách hỗ trợ người dân thoát nghèo không đạt hiệu quả do nhiều hộ còn ỷ lại, chây lười, vô tư lấy tiền nhà nước giúp đỡ đi nhậu nhẹt, mua sắm…

Xã Mường Lý, huyện Mường Lát, tỉnh Thanh Hóa nằm cách TP Thanh Hóa hơn 200 km. Đường sá chỉ là những lối mòn do dân tự mở nên học sinh (HS) muốn theo được con chữ chỉ còn cách dựng lều, lán bằng tre nứa tạm bợ trên sườn núi. Dù nhận được nhiều chính sách hỗ trợ của nhà nước nhưng HS ở đây vẫn bữa đói bữa no.

Cha mẹ sắm xe máy, ti vi;con ăn rau rừng

Vừa tan lớp, Vàng A Phử, HS lớp 8A Trường THCS Mường Lý, chạy vội về căn lều trọ học tuềnh toàng nằm cheo leo bên sườn núi. Nuôi cấy thành công đông trùng hạ thảo

TN – Vốn là một loại dược liệu quý hiếm từ lâu đời, đông trùng hạ thảo khá quen thuộc trong các phương thuốc đông y và có giá khá đắt. Nhưng tại VN, dược liệu lạ lùng này đã được nuôi cấy thành công.

Đông trùng hạ thảo (ĐTHT) là một loại nấm sống ký sinh trên côn trùng, trên các vùng núi cao 3.000 – 4.000 m so với mực nước biển ở Himalaya, Tây Tạng, Vân Nam, Cam Túc… Có trên 600 loài ĐTHT nhưng được biết đến nhiều nhất là Cordyceps Sinensis và Cordyceps Militaris, trong đó Cordyceps Militaris có tính năng vượt trội về dược chất có lợi cho sức khỏe con người. Tuy nhiên ĐTHT trong thiên nhiên ngày càng cạn kiệt do khai thác quá nhiều và số lượng không đáp ứng đủ cho nhu cầu sử dụng nên giá thành rất cao, từ 50.000 – 90.000 USD/kg khô.

Anh Đỗ Văn Huệ, quê gốc ở Tiền Giang, đã phối hợp với một người bạn để nghiên cứu nuôi cấy ĐTHT thành công.

TN – Với 832 loài cây thuốc đã phát hiện, trong đó 36 loài cây thuốc có tên trong “Sách đỏ Việt Nam”, Quảng Nam thực sự là xứ sở của cây thuốc quý nhưng cũng dễ đối diện nguy cơ tận diệt nếu không cấp thiết bảo tồn.

    Nhân dịp một nhóm trí thức gồm giáo sư Hoàng Xuân Phú, nhà báo Nguyễn Đăng Quang, cô giáo Hiền Giang và kỹ sư Lã Dũng về Tiên Lãng thăm đại gia đình họ Đoàn sau khi hai anh em ruột Đoàn Văn Vươn và Đoàn Văn Quý được đặc xá ra tù ( xem bài viết cảm động của Nguyễn Đăng Quang về cuộc thăm hỏi này trên teu.bloge), tôi xin được gửi tới ông Vươn & ông Quý mấy dòng cảm nghĩ viết từ mấy năm trước…

During the meeting, the first between the Government leader and young scientists, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan said many practical innovations by young scientists had brought about great socio-economic efficiency.
