Cô gái người Cần Thơ 31 tuổi đã mở văn phòng ở Singapore đầu năm 2017 để bắt đầu cho hành trình khởi nghiệp của mình.

Nhiệt huyết với mã nguồn mở (open source), Phúc đã kết nối cộng đồng FOSSASIA hơn 20.000 thành viên – tự nguyện chia sẻ kiến thức công nghệ, hoàn thiện các giải pháp phục vụ nghiên cứu khoa học, giáo dục, thương mại…

Công ty của Phúc cũng là đối tác của Google trong nhiều sự kiện trại hè lập trình tại châu Á. Phúc và cộng sự cũng bắt đầu khởi nghiệp với hai sản phẩm là Trí tuệ nhân tạo mã nguồn mở (không độc quyền) và Phòng thí nghiệm mở (bộ sản phẩm giáo dục cho học sinh THPT).

(TBKTSG) – Sau hơn hai năm hiện diện dưới danh nghĩa “mô hình thí điểm” cùng nhiều bàn cãi, Uber và Grab sẽ tiếp tục chờ… cho tên. Bộ Giao thông Vận tải (GTVT) cần thêm sự nghiên cứu kỹ lưỡng và việc ban hành nghị định quản lý mô hình kinh doanh này vì vậy cần thêm thời gian. Thậm chí, Bộ trưởng Bộ GTVT còn tuyên bố rằng Uber hay Grab cần phải rời khỏi Việt Nam nếu không tuân thủ pháp luật trong khi ai ai cũng biết rõ rằng việc làm luật là của Nhà nước.

This morning, Associated Press (AP) had the story that Russians have succeeded in hacking into the US energy grid, though they were then expelled.  From the CNBC version:

U.S. national security officials said the FBI, the Homeland Security Department and American intelligence agencies determined that Russian intelligence and others were behind the attacks on the energy sector. The officials said the Russians deliberately chose U.S. energy industry targets, obtaining access to computer systems and then conducting “network reconnaissance” of industrial control systems that run American factories and the electricity grid. Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security (MoPS) thinks it is killing two birds with one stone by passing new laws regulating data storage. But it could soon find out it has no use for two dead birds while the stone flies off and damages the economy.

In June 2017, the MoPS proposed a draft cybersecurity law that requires all foreign online service providers (including Facebook, Google and Twitter) to store their Vietnamese users’ data exclusively in Vietnamese data centres — a practice known as ‘data localisation’. Foreign tech firms would likely have Vietnamese partners run their local data centres, manage domestic service sales and handle government requests for user data. The proposal has sparked a heated debate between those who believe in its benefits and those who warn against its serious threats to economic development. (TBKTSG) – Khi cuốn sách của Jonathan Taplin “Move Fast and Break Things” (Di chuyển nhanh và Phá vỡ mọi thứ) được xuất bản ở Anh hồi tháng 4-2017, cái nhan đề phụ của nó “How Facebook, Google và Amazon cornered culture and undermined democracy” (Facebook, Google và Amazon đã lũng đoạn văn hóa và xói mòn nền dân chủ như thế nào) đã bị gạch bỏ bởi vì nhà xuất bản nghĩ rằng nhận định đó không có cơ sở. The information minister has pledged to push for more control over foreign tech giants such as Google and Facebook.

Facebook, the world’s biggest social network and the most popular in Vietnam, has acted upon a request by Vietnamese authorities to remove 159 anti-government accounts, a senior government official has said.

The network has removed accounts that defamed or criticized Vietnam’s leaders, and those that spread propaganda against the government and the ruling Communist Party, Truong Minh Tuan, Minister of Information and Communication, said at a meeting on Friday.
