BÌNH DƯƠNG — Việt Nam has emerged as a new economic star in the Southeast Asia region, with its southern province of Bình Dương poised to become a new centre for global dialogue in the near future, the chairman and founder of Horasis said yesterday at one of Asia’s largest economic forums.

Better than beer ôm and coffee ôm. Think about our women’s bodies while you fly with us. You will realize that our women have greatest bodies in the world.

That is surely a good way to get money from men with hormone at the level of teenager. It embarrasses both Vietnamese women and men. And looks like the driving force behind all this is a woman too. Is she a real woman, or a sick male chauvinist in disguise? Or she is simply sick by obsession with money making? Wow, money, mony, money! Such a great driving force of human psyche!

Da Nang dismissed environmental concerns to build a new port

Vietnam’s central city Da Nang has dismissed environmental concerns raised by a Singaporean consultant and is pushing ahead with plans to build a new port.

At a meeting with voters on Tuesday, city Chairman Huynh Duc Tho confirmed that the Lien Chieu Port would be built in Da Nang Bay.

The 220-hectare, VND32.86 trillion ($1.42 billion) port, expected to spearhead Da Nang’s logistics development, will be built below Hai Van Pass in central Vietnam.

Lien Chieu will function as a gateway for cargo while Tien Sa, currently the only port in the city, will become a tourism port.

Nine major expressways that cost VND128 trillion ($5.5 billion) have considerably sped up connections between Hanoi and northern localities.

A VND6.7 trillion ($289.6 million) expansion project to upgrade the Phap Van-Cau Gie expressway, the southern gateway to Hanoi, from four to six lanes was completed late last year and put into operation earlier this year.

The Phap Van-Cau Gie Expressway, which first opened in 2002, runs more than 32 kilometers (20 miles) to the south of Hanoi and links up with another expressway to the nearby Ninh Binh Province. The six-lane expressway is expected to cater to 60,000 vehicles per day and daily revenue from toll fees is estimated at more than VND2 billion ($86,400). HÀ NỘI — The State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV) has proposed freezing the accounts of those suspected of committing the fraud.

The central bank also called for a ban on borrowing or renting bank accounts as well as certain intermediate payment services to improve account holders traceability and limit illegal activities in a draft amendment to a Government directive on cashless transactions.

The Hanoitimes – US-based Gen X Energy is considering a US$6-billion liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Vietnam.

Vietnam encourages and support US enterprises to invest in the country’s energy sector, said Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung in a meeting with Scott Kicker, CEO of US-based Gen X Energy, on November 15.

Dung highly regarded Gen X Energy’s interest in a US$6-billion liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Vietnam.

According to Dung, Vietnam considers the US a top partner, saying the bilateral comprehensive partnership has been growing strong on bilateral, regional and international fronts.

 More than per 76 per cent of current investment projects following public private partnerships (PPP) are in the field of transport infrastructure, but investors still feel insecure.

Buying first home remains a pipe dream for young Vietnamese

Surging prices and a decline in the supply of affordable apartments are making it almost impossible for young Vietnamese to buy their first home.

Pham Hoai Nam used to think that being a grown-up means having a stable job, a good salary, a beautiful girlfriend, and his own house.

Now, at age 28, he is able to check off all of those items except the last one.

“My girlfriend and I plan to get married next year, and our only major concern now is finding a place to live,” Nam, who works as an electronics salesman in Hanoi, says.

He is among many young Vietnamese in major cities who are finding that their dream of owning a home is becoming increasingly elusive as real estate prices rise faster than incomes amid a decline in affordable apartment supply.

LTS: Hơn 2 năm kể từ ngày xảy ra vụ việc mất an ninh trật tự tại địa bàn xã Đồng Tâm (huyện Mỹ Đức), trong khi hầu hết người dân địa phương hiểu rõ vấn đề, chăm lo, vun vén xây dựng quê hương, thì một số ít cá nhân vẫn cố tình làm phức tạp tình hình. Pháp luật phải được thực thi là yêu cầu cấp thiết hiện nay.
