Since the early 90's, I have established and managed VNFORUM and VNBIZ forum on VN-related matters; these forums are the subject of a PhD thesis by Dr. Caroline Valverde at UC-Berkeley and her book Transnationalizing Viet Nam.
I translate poetry and my translation of "A Request at Đồng Lộc Cemetery" is now engraved on a stone memorial at Đồng Lộc National Shrine in VN.
I study and teach the Bible and Buddhism. In 2009 I founded and still manage dotchuoinon.com on positive thinking and two other blogs on Buddhism.
In 2015 a group of friends and I founded website CVD - Conversations on Vietnam Development (cvdvn.net).
I study the art of leadership with many friends who are religious, business and government leaders from many countries.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation has said that every mother tongue is vital to literacy because it facilitates the acquisition of basic reading and writing skills, as well as basic numeracy, during the first years of schooling.

It’s a Saturday afternoon at a community center in Dorchester. More than a dozen people sit in metal folding chairs, organized in a circle and leaning forward, listening to the free legal advice being offered.

Singaporean firms selected to design master plan for Da Nang

Da Nang (VNA) – Da Nang authorities have selected Singaporean-based firms Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to design the central city’s master plan and economic development strategy towards 2030.
The information was unveiled by Director of the municipal Department of Construction Vu Quang Hung on February 20.
Earlier, on April 26, 2018, the municipal People’s Committee, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), and Sakae Holdings Ltd., signed a memorandum of understanding on the introduction of Singaporean experts to help with the city’s master plan. Finding that a Texas court hadn’t followed its instructions, the U.S. Supreme Court has declared that a Texas man who killed a store clerk during a botched robbery attempt “is a person with intellectual disability” and therefore cannot be put to death.
This is the second time the Supreme Court has weighed in on the case, which stems from a 1980 robbery in which Bobby J. Moore shot and killed a store clerk. The issue before the court has been whether Moore lacked the intellectual capacity to be put to death for his crime. US needs an internet data privacy law, GAO tells Congress
Chief auditor cites Facebook’s Cambridge Analytica data scandal as an example of why a privacy law is necessary.

The federal government’s chief auditor has recommended Congress consider developing legislation to beef up consumers’ internet data privacy protections. much like the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
The recommendation was included in a 56-page report (PDF) issued Wednesday by the Government Accountability Office, the government agency that provides auditing, evaluation and investigative services for Congress. The report was prepared at the request two years ago by Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-N.J.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has scheduled a hearing to discuss the subject for Feb. 26.

TTO – Chiều mai (15-2), Cục Hàng không Việt Nam sẽ nhận chứng nhận đạt năng lực giám sát an toàn hàng không mức 1 (CAT 1) của Cục Hàng không liên bang Hoa Kỳ.
