I am an attorney in the Washington DC area, with a Doctor of Law in the US, attended the master program at the National School of Administration of Việt Nam, and graduated from Sài Gòn University Law School. I aso studied philosophy at the School of Letters in Sài Gòn.

I have worked as an anti-trust attorney for Federal Trade Commission and a litigator for a fortune-100 telecom company in Washington DC.
I have taught law courses for legal professionals in Việt Nam and still counsel VN government agencies on legal matters.
I have founded and managed businesses for me and my family, both law and non-law.
I have published many articles on national newspapers and radio stations in Việt Nam.
In 1989 I was one of the founding members of US-VN Trade Council, working to re-establish US-VN relationship.
Since the early 90's, I have established and managed VNFORUM and VNBIZ forum on VN-related matters; these forums are the subject of a PhD thesis by Dr. Caroline Valverde at UC-Berkeley and her book Transnationalizing Viet Nam.
I translate poetry and my translation of "A Request at Đồng Lộc Cemetery" is now engraved on a stone memorial at Đồng Lộc National Shrine in VN.
I study and teach the Bible and Buddhism. In 2009 I founded and still manage dotchuoinon.com on positive thinking and two other blogs on Buddhism.
In 2015 a group of friends and I founded website CVD - Conversations on Vietnam Development (cvdvn.net).
I study the art of leadership with many friends who are religious, business and government leaders from many countries.

Tập Cận Bình (Xi Jinping) được nhiều người coi là một chính trị gia giỏi, với kỳ tích chống tham nhũng, củng cố quyền lực, cải tổ quân đội, phát triển đất nước, vì “Giấc mộng Trung Hoa”. Đặc biệt, Tập Cận Bình còn muốn “làm Trung Quốc vĩ đại trở lại”, vượt Mỹ làm bá chủ thế giới. Nhưng mặt khác, cũng có thể nói Tập Cận Bình đã mắc phải mấy sai lầm lớn.
Thứ nhất, ông không chỉ nắm 3 chức vụ cao nhất của Đảng, Nhà nước, và Quân đội, như “lãnh đạo nòng cốt”, mà còn bỏ giới hạn hai nhiệm kỳ để trở thành “Hoàng đế đỏ” Trung Hoa. Thứ hai, ông tự tin khởi động kế hoạch “Made in China 2025” làm Mỹ và phương Tây lo lắng chống lại. Thứ ba, ông chủ quan theo đuổi sáng kiến “Vành đai và Con đường”, làm nhiều nước khác phản ứng “bẫy nợ”. Thứ tư, ông thiếu nhạy cảm triển khai “chính sách gây ảnh hưởng” bằng các viện Khổng Tử và “tấn công quyến rũ”, làm nhiều nước lo ngại “con ngựa thành Troy”. Thứ năm, ông thẳng tay trấn áp người Duy Ngô Nhĩ ở Tân Cương, và nôn nóng triển khai “hệ thống tín nhiệm xã hội”. Jean-Bédel Bokassa’s rise from soldier to sovereign is one the strangest tales of the 20th century. Stranger still are the connections between the African emperor and far-flung Vietnam.

- In the service of France, Jean-Bédel Bokassa fights in Vietnam, eventually marrying and fathering a daughter with a local Vietnamese woman
- Back in Africa, Bokassa leads a coup, names himself emperor and begins a search for his Vietnamese family
- His Vietnamese daughter (twice) joins Bokassa’s giant family, yet this fairy tale does not have a happy ending

Có lẽ các bạn đã nghe chuyện nước chấm công nghiệp và nước mắm truyền thống. Mình muốn các bạn hành giả tư duy tích cực bắt đầu suy nghĩ về việc những loại việc này cẩn thận.
27 năm trước, năm 1992, khi VN mới bắt đầu muốn mở cửa mở ra thế giới, thì mình thành lập Vietnamese American Education Foundation và phải nói là chiến đấu gian khổ vượt nhiều khó khăn chính trị để về Hà Nội mở lớp luật đầu tiên từ Mỹ với hai luật sư Mỹ tại Hà Nội – Bộ Tư Pháp, Trọng Tài Nhà Nước, Phòng Thương Mại VN, và ở Sài Gòn – Viện Kinh Tế, Sở Tư Pháp, Trung tâm Xúc tiến Thương mại và Đầu tư. Đó là thời Mỹ còn cấm vận VN, làm gì giữa Mỹ và Việt Nam đều cực kỳ khó. Nhưng vào thời đó mình muốn giúp VN thấy nhiều về thế giới bên ngoài, và Mỹ là nền kinh tế lớn nhất thế giới, nên mình muốn VN học nhiều về hệ thống kinh tế và luật của Mỹ, trước khi quan tâm đến các nước khác. Hơn nữa, các hoạt động giáo dục như thế cũng nhằm thúc đẩy quan hệ ngoại giao và dọn đường cho quan hệ ngoại giao giữa hai nước. Tiếp tục đọc “Tích cực với nước mắm”

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii—As an organization based solidly on dry land, the U.S. Army’s increasing focus on the Pacific might seem puzzling to some.
But with China continuing to expand its military, building islands in the South China Sea, and spreading fear among neighbors, the Army wants to up its game in the region with more firepower and additional rotations of U.S. troops—not only to reassure key U.S. allies such as Japan, South Korea, and Thailand that the United States has their back, but also to prevent a potential war.
