Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI – The US Department of Commerce has begun investigating the possibility of dumping of imports of tool chests and cabinets from Việt Nam and China.

The investigation is being conducted following a petition from Waterloo Industries Inc., which filed an anti-dumping and a countervailing duty from the two countries on April 11.

HÀ NỘI – Two major credit rating agencies, Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s (S&P), on Friday affirmed Việt Nam’s sovereign rating, citing the country’s strong foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows, macroeconomic and external stability and modest external debt burden.

Moody’s affirmed the Government of Việt Nam’s B1 issuer and senior unsecured debt ratings, while it raised the outlook to positive from stable.

YOKOHAMA — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) this year plans to provide loans worth US$4.2 billion, doubling last year’s figure, to support developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region in addressing water challenges.
The information was released by Deputy Director General of the ADB’s Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department Amy S.P. Leung on Wednesday.

The Russian Navy guided missile cruiser Varyag arrived at Cam Ranh Bay in south-central Vietnam on Thursday for a goodwill visit.

The cruiser, captained by Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Yurevich Ulyanenko and manned by a crew of 642 naval men, is being escorted by the medium-sized sea tanker Pechanga and the rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov.

BEIJING: China called Tuesday (May 2) for the immediate suspension of a controversial missile defence system hours after Washington confirmed the shield was now operational in South Korea.

Ngày 27/4 vừa qua hội Minh Khai PYA vừa tròn 4 năm hoạt động. Trên tinh thần sống khiêm tốn, thành thật và yêu người, hội là nơi để cho các bạn trẻ thực hành tư duy tích cực, đồng thời qua các hoạt động, hội góp phần phát triển giáo dục và văn hóa tại địa phương.

Vì tinh thần sống tích cực yêu đời và yêu người luôn sẵn có trong lòng mỗi người, do vậy qua 4 năm thế hệ nối tiếp thế hệ, các bạn trẻ trong PYA luôn truyền cho nhau ngọn lửa sống tích cực và duy trì nhịp đập không ngừng nghỉ của hội.

Cuối tháng 3, trời chuyển mùa nóng bức. Anh Bảy rủ tôi qua nhà anh làm bậy vài chai bia cho mát. Sau khi sai thằng con chạy mua thêm nước đá, anh vô đề chuyện thời sự, rằng mấy năm trước, công ty anh cho lãnh thêm tiền lễ 30-4 khoảng trên dưới ba trăm ngàn, thiệt không nhiều nhặn gì so với mức lương “cứng” một triệu mốt của anh. Đã vậy, năm nay tiền lễ ấy chắc chắn còn bèo hơn nữa vì công ty đã chuyển thành công ty cổ phần, phải “liệu cơm gắp mắm” kỹ hơn thời còn bao cấp, tức thẳng tay xiết lại tất cả các khoản lương, thưởng. Nhưng vì sang năm anh Bảy nghỉ hưu nên đối với anh, tiền lễ sắp lãnh dù có bèo bọt vẫn là món bổng lộc cuối cùng của đời công nhân, sẽ ý nghĩa lắm.
