However, it is patently obvious that human activities have exacerbated the devastation caused.

HÀ NỘI — A major driver of the illegal wildlife trade in the Golden Triangle – the border area where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar – is tourists from Việt Nam and China.

This was one of the conclusions of a report released on Thursday by the World Wildlife Fund to highlight ten of the Most Widely Traded Endangered Species in the markets of the Golden Triangle.

The forest has a total area of more than 4,400ha, covering Pa Khoang and Muong Phang communes in Dien Bien District, according to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s Decision 1976/QĐ-TTg issued on October 30, 2014.

The Muong Phang Forest and Environment Management Board manages more than 1,000ha based on Decision 611/QĐ-UBND issued by the Dien Bien Province People’s Committee on July 24, 2015.

VietNamNet Bridge – Scientists have expressed concern over plans to build a cable car system in Bach Ma National Park in Thua Thien-Hue province.
Deputy director of the Thua Thien-Hue provincial Planning Department Hoang Viet Trung on August 15 confirmed that the province has submitted to the Ministry of Construction a proposal to develop a Bach Ma spiritual eco-tourism and resort complex with a cable car.

A park project in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta has sparked concern among local residents for blatantly encroaching on a large area of a river, as it may cause the riverbank to collapse anytime.

For the past six months, people in Cai Lay and Cai Be Districts, Tien Giang Province, have been worried by the construction of a fruit park as it will take up a considerable portion of a local waterway.
