Cua Van, a small floating fishing village in the northern province of Quang Ninh, has been listed among the world’s 16 most beautiful villages by Journeyetc.com, a travel advisory website.

“You’ll be amazed at the historical sites and the cobble stone streets of this village,” the website said, describing Cua Van village as definitely one of the most scenic around the world.
“Admire the majestic lime stone hills of Ha Long Bay, take photos of this floating fishing village and colorful raft houses, and immerse yourself in the rustic lifestyle of Cua Van,” it said.
There are also more luxurious, overnight cruises available to this destination, according to the website.
Other villages included in the list are Wengen in Switzerland, Chimayo in New Mexico, Savoca in Italy, Sidi Bou Said in Tunisia and Shirakawa-go in Japan, among others.
“These places are sure to give you goose bumps because they have managed to retain so much of their culture from decades, if not centuries ago,” the website said.-VNA
VietNamNet Bridge – Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has signed a decision to establish the Phia Oac-Phia Den National Park in the northern province of Cao Bang.

The park is aimed at protecting the local ecology and diversity, comprising 90 genres of plants and 58 rare animals as well as cultural values, landscapes and ecological environment.
The park, which used to be a nature preservation area, has been established to protect the natural forest area and increase the green cover from 84 per cent in 2016 to 95 per cent by 2030, creating a more conducive environment for flora and fauna. Vietnam has filed a complaint to the WTO over US anti-dumping measures on Vietnamese fish exports, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on January 14.

According to the WTO filing, Vietnam is seeking consultations with the US government concerning certain US anti-dumping regulations and practices as well as certain anti-dumping determinations in administrative reviews on fish fillets from Vietnam. Ghanaian schoolgirls have been banned from crossing a river while they are menstruating – and on Tuesdays.
