Viet Nam News HÀ NỘI — Egg coffee, a signature beverage of Hà Nội, is among the food and drink items being served to at least 3,500 local and international journalists covering the second Trump-Kim summit this week.

Summary:With data and modelling from almost 8,000 coal power plants, researchers present the most comprehensive global picture to date of climate and human health impacts from coal power generation.

Coal-fired power plants produce more than just the carbon dioxide that contributes to global warming. When burning coal, they also release particulate matter, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and mercury — thus damaging the health of many people around the world in various ways. To estimate where action is most urgently required, the research group led by Stefanie Hellweg from ETH Zurich’s Institute of Environmental Engineering modelled and calculated the undesired side effects of coal power for each of the 7,861 power plant units in the world.

    Có phải do “phú quý sinh… lễ nghĩa” để nay “người dân có nhiều điều kiện hơn để thực hành niềm tin tín ngưỡng”, để “hồi sinh nhiều nét văn hóa, lễ hội truyền thống từng bị bỏ rơi, thậm chí bị tàn phá một thời gian dài trong thời kỳ bao cấp” như có người nhận xét?     Chào các bạn,

    Cuộc họp thượng đỉnh Trump – Kim Jong-un sẽ diễn ra ở Hà Nội trong hai ngày nữa. Đây là sự kiện lớn cho thế giới vì liên quan đến vũ khí hạch nhân của Triều Tiên và hòa bình thế giới. Đây cũng là sự kiện ngoại giao lớn cho VN. Cả thế giới đổ dồn mắt về Hà Nội để theo dõi cuộc họp. Tốt cho danh tiếng của VN trên thế giới.

    Đây là sự thành công của chính sách ngoại giao đa phương của VN – xem mọi quốc gia đều là bạn – trong ba thập niên qua. Chẳng thể bỏ tiền mua quảng cáo mà có thể tốt như làm nước chủ nhà cho cuộc họp này. Người ta hy vọng rằng vị thế trung lập của VN đối với Mỹ và Triều Tiên sẽ giúp cho cuộc họp tốt hơn.

The rows of Bang lang (Giant Crape-myrtle) tree, Loc vung (Barringtonia acutangula) trees are changing the colour. In the background of the blue sky, each of the yellow leaves, the red leaves, sway lightly in the wind.

    It’s a Saturday afternoon at a community center in Dorchester. More than a dozen people sit in metal folding chairs, organized in a circle and leaning forward, listening to the free legal advice being offered.

    Some people are at the workshop alone; others have young children with them. They’re all part of Dorchester’s large Vietnamese community. And, like Van Nguyen, they’re all here because they’re worried.

    “I mean it’s kind of, like, hitting home because my husband does not have citizenship and he’s got a past so we’re just kind of very nervous too,” Nguyen says.

    There’s increasing anxiety among Vietnamese immigrants across the country.

    For more than a year now, the Trump administration has been quietly renegotiating an agreement between the United States and Vietnam. The agreement has allowed some Vietnamese immigrants to live here for more than 20 years.

    WASHINGTON – The “Dotard” and the “Rocket Man” are ready for their second pas de deux.

    The world will be watching when President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sit down next week for their second summit in less than a year.

    The meeting, which will take place Feb. 27 and 28 in Vietnam, follows their first round of face-to-face talks last summer in Singapore and will give the two leaders a chance to flesh out some of the details of a history-making denuclearization agreement that emerged from their initial dialogue.

    Da Nang (VNA) – Da Nang authorities have selected Singaporean-based firms Sakae Corporate Advisory and Surbana Jurong to design the central city’s master plan and economic development strategy towards 2030.

    The information was unveiled by Director of the municipal Department of Construction Vu Quang Hung on February 20.

    Earlier, on April 26, 2018, the municipal People’s Committee, the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF), and Sakae Holdings Ltd., signed a memorandum of understanding on the introduction of Singaporean experts to help with the city’s master plan.     Supreme Court Blocks Texas From Executing Mentally Disabled Man

     

    U.S. Supreme Court has ended a long legal fight by ruling that a Texas death row inmate is intellectually disabled and thus may not be executed. Manuel Balce Ceneta/AP

    Finding that a Texas court hadn’t followed its instructions, the U.S. Supreme Court has declared that a Texas man who killed a store clerk during a botched robbery attempt “is a person with intellectual disability” and therefore cannot be put to death.

    This is the second time the Supreme Court has weighed in on the case, which stems from a 1980 robbery in which Bobby J. Moore shot and killed a store clerk. The issue before the court has been whether Moore lacked the intellectual capacity to be put to death for his crime.     Người dân các tỉnh miền Tây vừa phải đối mặt với tình trạng kẹt xe kinh khủng tại các tuyến quốc lộ, cầu, phà khi trở lại TP.HCM sau dịp lễ, tết. Còn tại các đô thị lớn, áp lực cũng đang đè nặng lên hạ tầng giao thông do lượng xe cộ tăng nhanh mà quỹ đất giao thông không tương ứng. Thiệt hại cho phát triển kinh tế – xã hội là rất lớn, nhưng đến nay vẫn chưa có nhiều giải pháp khả thi, và mỗi nơi đang loay hoay một cách.
