LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Operation USA, a Los Angeles-based international relief agency, today announced it has partnered with VietJet Airlines, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several Vietnamese companies to bring 2.5 million masks and other personal protective equipment into the U.S. by air and sea in support of ongoing COVID-19 response efforts. A majority of the masks will be distributed in the Greater Los Angeles area, with additional masks being shipped to partners in New York City. OpUSA is working closely with LA Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office, the Deputy Mayor for International Affairs, Ambassador Nina Hachigian, and the Port of Los Angeles to arrange transport and distribution. PM okays resumption of Viet Nam-China flights

VGP – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has given the green light to the resumption of flights between Viet Nam and China, the Government Office announced Monday.

The move was made following the Government’s latest meeting on COVID-19 pandemic.

Frequency and conditions for passenger transport shall be discussed and decided by competent authorities of the two countries.

Vietnam will implement a pilot scheme of reopening international air routes to several regional countries to bring back Vietnamese citizens stranded overseas due to COVID-19, as well as foreign specialists, business executives and skilled workers to Vietnam.

Dengue fever season is peaking as death tolls have risen

According to the Ministry of Health yesterday, dengue fever season is peaking as death tolls have risen to four and more than 24,000 infections have been reported in 58 cities and provinces from the beginning of the year to early June.

Four people in the Central Province of Binh Dinh, the southern provinces of Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho succumbed to the disease. Most of infected people are living in the southern provinces.

HANOI (Reuters) – Vietnam’s health ministry on Monday reported 14 new coronavirus infections, all among Vietnamese citizens held in quarantine upon their arrival from overseas.

The Southeast Asian country has been 81 days without a domestically transmitted infection due to successful programmes to contain the virus. It has yet to report any deaths from the coronavirus and has confirmed 369 cases in total, over 90% of which have recovered.

The move involves a one-month extension to the current policy, issued in mid-May that allowed foreigners entering the country on a tourist visa, e-visa or visa exemption since March 1 to have their stay automatically extended until June 30, vnexpress reported.

Suckhoedoisong.vn – Hiện nước ta có một nguồn dược liệu tự nhiên phong phú, có khoảng 5.117 loài loài thực vật có công dụng làm thuốc. Tuy nhiên, một nghịch lý vẫn đang tồn tại trong ngành sản xuất dược liệu của chúng ta đó là đa phần các công ty sản xuất dược liệu của Việt Nam hiện phải nhập khẩu từ nước ngoài. Bên cạnh đó, việc nuôi trồng, chế biến dược liệu tuy có nguồn lực nhưng vẫn phát triển tự phát, chưa tương xứng với tiềm năng.
