Một sáng cuối tuần, gặp lại Miên Đức Thắng ở phòng trà Sienna (Sài Gòn), tôi mới biết cũng tại đây, anh vừa dự chương trình thơ nhạc “Nụ hoa vàng ngày xuân” tưởng niệm 10 năm ngày mất của nhà thơ Kim Tuấn (1938 – 2003) do Hội nhà văn TP tổ chức. Trong buổi sinh hoạt này, Miên Đức Thắng hát bản “Cứ chảy theo thời gian” mà thú vị là bản nhạc lại do anh phổ từ một bài thơ của chính mình viết để nhớ lần tiễn nhà thơ Kim Tuấn đến lò thiêu Bình Hưng Hòa. VietNamNet Bridge – Pho (noodle), cha ca La Vong (fried fish), bun cha Hanoi (vermicelli and grilled chopped meat), banh da cua Haiphong (rice pancake with crab soup) … are among Vietnamese cuisines that are nominated as Asian records.
The list of nominees include: Pho, bun cha, cha ca La Vong, bun thang Hanoi (vermicelli and chicken soup), banh da cua Haiphong, com chay Ninh Binh (rice crust), mien luon Nghe An (vermicelli with eel soup), bun bo Hue (vermicelli and beef), mi Quang (noodle), pho kho Gia Lai (dry noodle), banh canh Trang Bang (rice spaghetti), banh khot Vung Tau (rice cake with shrimp), goi cuon (summer roll), com tam Saigon (cooked broken rice with grilled pork) and banh cong Soc Trang (rice and green bean cake with shrimp).

Viet Nam News KHÁNH HÒA — The 2017 Nha Trang Sea Festival, themed “Extending the Circle of Friendship”, opened Saturday night in the central province of Khánh Hòa, with a wide array of artistic, cultural and sporting activities.

HÀ NỘI — Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam has asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to update its legal documents and regulations on musical performance.
The Deputy PM said that already popular songs that have no words against traditional culture values and do not go against national interest should not need any permission for public performance, regardless of when and where they were composed.

Trinh Con Son wrote, “The Great Circle of Vietnam,” which envisions people holding hands in a circle large enough to encompass his nation.
WASHINGTON — Over the weekend, news filtered out that Vietnam had lifted a days-old ban on a beloved song by Trinh Con Son, who irritated the South and infuriated the North during years of fighting.
On April 11, Vietnam’s ruling Communist government decreed that “Noi vong tay lon” (“The Great Circle of Vietnam”) could no longer be broadcast or played in public.
