They are Tran Van Dong, 26, and Tran Van Truong, 32, residents of Ea Kar District in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak; and Nguyen Minh Truong, 20, and Nguyen Trieu Vy, 21, from Cam Lam and Cam Ranh District in the central province of Khanh Hoa.

A number of firearms were found at the many residences of a usury mogul who was apprehended by police in the southern city of Can Tho on Friday.The man, identified as 35-year-old Pham Huu Trong Nhan, had been running an extensive network of illegal loan giving at unfairly high rates of interest, according to officers.

Three British men have been sentenced to jail and caning for sexually assaulting a Malaysian woman during a stag party in Singapore.

The defendants – Khong Tam Thanh, 22, Michael Le, 24, and Vu Thai Son, 24 – were originally accused of taking turns to rape the woman in a hotel room. Bị cáo Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh (tức blogger Mẹ Nấm), bị tuyên phạt 10 năm tù về tội “tuyên truyền chống Nhà nước CHXHCN Việt Nam”.

Hôm nay, TAND tỉnh Khánh Hòa mở phiên tòa xét xử sơ thẩm vụ án “tuyên truyền chống Nhà nước CHXHCN Việt Nam”, đối với bị cáo Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh (tức Mẹ Nấm, 38 tuổi, trú P.Vĩnh Phước, TP Nha Trang).

Chiều cùng ngày, HĐXX đã tuyên phạt bị cáo Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh 10 năm tù về tội danh nêu trên.

Theo cáo trạng, năm 2010, Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh tạo lập tài khoản facebook “Mẹ Nấm”, sau đó nhiều lần thay đổi tên hiển thị là “Mẹ Nấm Gấu”, “Nguyen Nhu Quynh”, “Nguyễn Ngọc Như Quỳnh”.

(TBKTSG) – Những thảo luận công khai và cởi mở xung quanh câu chuyện đất sân golf ở sân bay Tân Sơn Nhất đã gợi mở đến những vấn đề chính sách cốt lõi: đất quốc phòng nói riêng, và chủ trương quân đội có nên làm kinh tế hay không nói chung.

Phát biểu gần đây nhất của Thứ trưởng Bộ Quốc phòng Lê Chiêm được báo chí trích dẫn rằng quân đội sẽ không làm kinh tế để tập trung vào phát triển nền quốc phòng chuyên nghiệp và hiện đại, đã nhận được sự ủng hộ rộng rãi. Tập trung vào nhiệm vụ cốt lõi – bảo vệ Tổ quốc – không chỉ làm quân đội mạnh lên, khu vực kinh tế dân doanh trong nước rõ ràng cũng được hưởng lợi. Liên quan đến vụ việc có dấu hiệu vi phạm pháp luật xảy ra ngày 15-4-2017 tại xã Đồng Tâm, huyện Mỹ Đức, TP. Hà Nội, ngày 13-6-2017, Cơ quan CSĐT CATP Hà Nội đã ra quyết định khởi tố vụ án hình sự số 129/PC44-Đ2, để điều tra về 2 tội danh: “Bắt, giữ hoặc giam người trái pháp luật” (theo điều 123 BLHS) và “Hủy hoại hoặc cố ý làm hư hỏng tài sản” (theo điều 143 BLHS).

Cơ quan CSĐT CATP Hà Nội đang khẩn trương phối hợp với các đơn vị chức năng điều tra, xác minh làm rõ vụ án để xử lý nghiêm theo quy định của pháp luật./.

Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has ordered an urgent investigation to be launched into the death of a teenage girl, who killed herself after no probe was conducted into her accusation of multiple rapes by a neighbor.

The premier has tasked the Ministry of Public Security with working with police in the southernmost province of Ca Mau to bring justice to the girl, 13-year-old H.M.K, the Government Office said in a statement on Friday.

Hanoi police seize transcontinental crime gang from Colombia

Police in Hanoi have arrested a transcontinental gang of robbers originating from Colombia, who have operated in multiple countries including Vietnam.

Five members of the syndicate, Rodriguez Cuervo Luis Alexander, 40, Jose Aureliano Rosas Pena, 55, Ladino Cardona Jersain 51, Fabian Lucero Wilches, 35, and Carlos Alberto Lamprea Pena, 47, are all Colombian nationals, the municipal police department confirmed on Tuesday.

At the height of their activity in the Vietnamese capital, the gang targeted residents who had just withdrawn large sums of money from their banks.

Suffocating doesn’t begin to describe the way my heart constricts these days as news about sexual abuse of children breaks out, one after another.

And as heartbreaking as the cases are, the brain explodes in the deafening silence from those we believe are there to uphold the law, protect our children.

A 13-year-old girl in Cà Mau Province and her family reported to local police that she was abused by a neighbour eight times and petitioned that the perpetrator be taken to court. The answer they got from the police last November was a decision not to investigate further because “there was not enough evidence”.
