(TBKTSG) – Hơn 42% tổng nguồn vốn đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài (FDI) mới cam kết được cấp phép trong 11 tháng đầu năm 2017 là đăng ký vào lĩnh vực kinh doanh và phân phối điện. Đáng chú ý, cả ba dự án được cấp phép trong lĩnh vực này đều là xây dựng nhà máy nhiệt điện than.

Ngoài tập đoàn Điện lực Việt Nam (EVN) là đơn vị chủ lực thực hiện đầu tư phát triển nguồn điện, Chính phủ đã từng bước hình thành, phát triển thị trường điện cạnh tranh, đa dạng hóa phương thức đầu tư và kinh doanh điện, nhằm khuyến khích các nhà đầu tư trong và ngoài nước tham gia đầu tư các công trình nguồn điện theo hình thức BOT (xây dựng – vận hành – chuyển giao).

Vừa qua ngày 11/11/2017 tại An Giang, Trung tâm Phát triển Sáng tạo Xanh (GreenID) phối hợp với Trung tâm hành động và liên kết vì môi trường và phát triển (Change) đã tổ chức chuyến thăm quan thực địa cho các nhà báo về các mô hình NLBV cấp cộng đồng.

Hoạt động nằm trong khuôn khổ dự án: “Tăng cường tiếp cận năng lượng cho người nghèo chưa nối lưới ở các tỉnh đồng bằng sông Mekong của Việt Nam thông qua ứng dụng các giải pháp năng lượng xanh và bền vững” với sự hỗ trợ tài chính từ Tổ chức Bánh mì cho thế giới (BFTW).

Mục tiêu chính của hoạt động nhằm chia sẻ thực tiễn tốt về ứng dụng các giải pháp năng lượng bền vững cấp cộng đồng thông qua mô hình lập kế hoạch năng lượng địa phương tại địa bàn An Giang. Đồng thời, xây dựng mạng lưới kết nối giữa các nhà báo và GreenID, Change nhằm lan tỏa các bài học thành công từ cộng đồng hướng đến giảm thiểu biến đổi khí hậu và thúc đẩy phát triển năng lượng bền vững. But today, as King Coal is being dethroned — by cheap natural gas, declining demand for electricity, and even green energy — what’s a former miner to do?

Nowhere has that question had more urgency than in Wyoming and West Virginia, two very different states whose economies lean heavily on fuel extraction. With energy prices falling or stagnant, both have lost population and had middling economic growth in recent years. Viet Nam News  HÀ NỘI — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) revised Việt Nam’s growth prospect upward to 6.7 per cent in both 2017 and 2018 compared with earlier forecasts of 6.3 and 6.5 per cent, respectively.

Bitcoin Mining Now Consuming More Electricity Than 159 Countries Including Ireland

The map above shows which countries consume less electricity than the amount consumed by global bitcoin miningBitcoin’s ongoing meteoric price rise has received the bulk of recent press attention with a lot of discussion around whether or not it’s a bubble waiting to burst.

However, most the coverage has missed out one of the more interesting and unintended consequences of this price increase. That is the surge in global electricity consumption used to “mine” more Bitcoins.

According to Digiconomist’s Bitcoin Energy Consumption Index, as of Monday November 20th, 2017 Bitcoin’s current estimated annual electricity consumption stands at 29.05TWh.

That’s the equivalent of 0.13% of total global electricity consumption. While that may not sound like a lot, it means Bitcoin mining is now using more electricity than 159 individual countries (as you can see from the map above). More than Ireland or Nigeria. By October 20, the implemented FDI had reached $14.2 billion

The public now can access figures about foreign investment monthly from the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) and GSO, and quarterly from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), reflected in the Balance of Payments.

According to SBV, the disbursed FDI capital is estimated at $5.9 billion.

And the sector is growing rapidly, thanks to the expanding global middle class, improved digital and physical connectivity, and human curiosity. Mức tăng thuế than 400% vừa được phê duyệt ở Philipin cho chương trình tài khóa 2018 là một biện pháp kinh tế thận trọng sẽ thúc đẩy phát triển năng lượng sạch hơn và rẻ hơn, theo Viện Năng lượng Kinh tế và Phân tích Tài chính (IEEFA).

Mức thuế hiện nay là 10 Php sẽ tăng lên 50 Php/tấn vào năm 2018, 100 Php/tấn vào năm 2019, và 150 Php/tấn vào năm 2020. Việc tăng thuế này có thể dẫn đến khoản thu nhập thuế của 750 triệu Php vào năm 2018, 1,5 nghìn tỷ Php vào năm 2019, và 2,25 tỷ Php vào năm 2020. Sự thay đổi này đã được Nghị viện Philipin phê chuẩn và Hạ viện ngày hôm nay như là một phần của chương trình CẢI CÁCH TĂNG TRƯỞNG TOÀN DIỆN (TRAIN).

The need for scaling up renewables is now undisputed, and the full range of benefits they can bring has come to the fore in global discussions. As countries consider options at their disposal, understanding the socio-economic benefits of the transition to a renewable energy future is of vital importance. Renewable Energy Benefits: Measuring the Economics provides the first global quantification of the macroeconomic impacts of renewable energy deployment. It finds that doubling the share of renewables by 2030 would bring a range of positive impacts including an increase in global gross domestic product (GDP) up to 1.1 percent, improvement of global welfare by 3.7 percent and over 24 million people working in the renewable energy sector. This report provides the latest evidence that mitigating climate change through the deployment of renewable energy and achieving other socio-economic objectives are mutually beneficial. Thanks to the growing business case for renewable energy, an investment in one is an investment in both. A full understanding of these benefits can tip the balance towards low-carbon investments and future-proof our energy system.
