Visitors’ concerns and worries about the safety of Vietnam as a destination amidst the COVID-19 pandemic can be swept away thanks to an application which will be launched on October 10 by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

Available to be downloaded in both Vietnamese and English from 10:10 AM on October 10 via http://vietnamtourism.gov.vn/live, the app is designed to make it easier for visitors to check out how safe destinations are and feel more secure about their trip.

Hôm qua rằm tháng Tám, cũng là Tết Trung Thu vốn rộn ràng vui vẻ, nhưng tiếc là cái dịch Covid 19 hiện vẫn còn đe dọa nên chùa Phổ Quang (Phú Nhuận) dù vẫn nghi ngút khói nhang nhưng rõ ràng là khá vắng khách thập phương.

Lâu nay, cứ ngày rằm hay mùng 1 là vợ chồng tôi đi chùa, riêng tôi còn có job riêng là chụp ảnh. Trong bộ sưu tập ảnh các chùa, đình, miếu, lăng, đền… của mình, tôi tâm đắc nhất là các ngôi chùa cổ. Từ lâu rồi, đã lặn lội săn ảnh khắp các vùng gần/xa Sài Gòn, trí nhớ tôi lại đặc biệt ghi đậm hình ảnh Châu Thới sơn tự ở thị xã Dĩ An, Bình Dương, mà tôi đã đến khoảng năm 2007, 2008… Tiếp tục đọc “Ngôi chùa cổ trên núi Châu Thới” →

Nhà tôi ngay cạnh dòng kênh Nhiêu Lộc, mỗi ngày đi qua dòng nước mát lành trong vời vợi, cảm giác như trở lại ngày xưa, thèm biết bao được trốn học đi chơi.

Dòng kênh chứng kiến bao cuộc đổi đời của từng phận người, từng vùng đất ấy dường như mình đã thuộc nằm lòng từng mảng cỏ xanh, từng quán cóc bên đường mỗi chiều thả bước dạo chơi.

Vietnam to pilot night-time economic activities in 10 major cities

The Government has approved a project on night-time economy development in Vietnam which will allow major cities and tourist attractions to pilot night-time services until 6 a.m.

  The project aims to take advantage of the potentials of night-time economy to boost the national economy and enhance the incomes of the people while ensuring social order and safety.

The 10 major cities, provinces and tourist attractions set to pilot the project include Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An, Thua Thien Hue, Can Tho, Da Lat and Phu Quoc.

The efficiency of the pilot project will be reviewed and assessed to serve as a basis for the implementation of the project on a larger scale in the future.

Notably, the project proposes the building of several separate night-time entertainment complexes in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in the 2021-2025 period.

Under the project, the Prime Minister asked People’s Committees of centrally-run provinces and cities to build models on nigh-time economy in conformity with local advantages and conditions, particularly the infrastructure and investment resources. Nhan Dan

VGP – Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam has called upon the Southeastern region to focus on human-centred tourism development and enable local people to engage in tourism development in favor of poverty reduction.

The Government leader made the statement at a conference on tourism development connectivity in the Southeastern Region on June 28 in Tay Ninh province.

Addressing the event, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the Southeastern region is the most dynamic region in Viet Nam thanks to abundant advantages.

  • Studies that “ring the alarm bell” tend to dominate because of the challenges of doing the kind of complex multidisciplinary research needed to develop workable solutions, and the fact that professional and financial incentives are lacking for the latter kind of work.
  • The researchers highlighted three cases in which the accumulated body of research on a particular conservation challenge took a solution-oriented trajectory and met with success: South Asian vultures, whooping cranes, and seabird bycatch.

Conservation science that more effectively serves the goals of protecting and enhancing global biodiversity must shift away from tracking declines and toward devising real-world solutions, a recent study suggests.

Too much of the field’s research focuses on describing the state of nature (such as the fact that a particular population is declining), and too little on what is causing those declines and how to address it, the authors write in their paper in the journal Conservation Letters. Among those enjoying the least visa free access, Vietnam’s passport climbed two spots to 88th among 107 in the latest power ranking.

37 foreigners suffer alleged food poisoning in tourism hotspot

Authorities in central Nha Trang Town are investigating the hospitalization of 37 foreigners showing symptoms of food poisoning.

The group of tourists ate a buffet breakfast at Diamond Bay Condotel Resort in Nha Trang of Khanh Hoa Province on Tuesday that contained 30 dishes and served around 600 customers, including Vietnamese, Russians and Chinese.

Several hours later, many began suffering stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea and were sent to the emergency room at a local hospital, said Le Tan Hung, deputy director of the provincial health department.
