People in a village in the northern central province of Thanh Hoa have contributed money to build a temple to worship a whale skeleton.

Most of the households in Hung Thanh Village, Hau Loc District have lived on fishing for many generations.
In early 2004, while fishing at sea, some villagers found a dead whale drifting to the shore, after preserving the carcase for seven months, they brought to its skeleton to the village to clean it.For Vietnamese fishermen, the whale is seen a guardian angel for their voyage. When finding the dead whale, people in Hung Thanh Village thought that the fish wanted to take permanent rest.
Early 2012, villagers contributed their money to build a VND1 billion (USD47,600) temple for worshiping the whale. The skeleton is now being kept in a glass house with the close watch by security guards.
People in the village take the first day of the lunar December every year is the anniversary of the whale’s death. Lots of people from other localities came to the village to see the skeleton and burn incense. They call the whale Ngai Nam Hai or Ca Ong. Tiếp tục đọc “Thanh Hoa whale temple”
Chiều 7/3, Giám đốc Sở Xây dựng Hà Nội Lê Văn Dục cho biết, trong năm 2017 thành phố sẽ hoàn thành xây dựng mới 250 nhà vệ sinh công cộng bằng nguồn vốn xã hội hóa.

Hiện Hà Nội có 371 nhà vệ sinh công cộng. Trong đó, 113 nhà vệ sinh bằng thép, hầu hết được xây dựng trong giai đoạn 2003-2010, nằm ở một số mặt phố, khu vực vườn hoa công cộng. Còn lại 258 nhà vệ sinh bằng gạch, nằm trong các khu dân cư được xây từ những năm 1990.
Theo lãnh đạo Sở Xây dựng, năm 2012, Hà Nội có chủ trương xây dựng mới một số nhà vệ sinh công cộng bằng thép, nhưng trước ý kiến chi phí xây dựng quá cao, thành phố đã cho dừng lại.
Ngày 7/3, phát biểu tại cuộc họp về tình hình khai thác cát sỏi trái phép, Phó thủ tướng Trương Hòa Bình yêu cầu các lực lượng chức năng mở đợt cao điểm tấn công trấn áp tội phạm trong lĩnh vực này từ ngày 15/3 đến 1/6… Các bộ ngành liên quan cần tạm dừng cấp phép xuất khẩu cát nhiễm mặn tận thu từ các dự án xã hội hoá.

SINGAPORE: Changi Airport lost out to Seoul’s Incheon Airport to be the region’s airport with the best customer service.
The Singapore airport came in joint-second with Delhi Airport and Mumbai Airport, while Beijing Airport and Haikou Airport were joint-third for the region, according to Airports Council International (ACI) World’s 2016 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. YANGON: At least 30 people were killed on Monday (Mar 6) in a day of intense fighting in a town on Myanmar’s border with China, authorities said, after rebels dressed in police uniforms launched a surprise raid.
Artillery and small arms fire continued throughout the day in Laukkai, a main town in the Kokang region of the northeastern state of Shan.
The clashes are some of the worst to break out in the Chinese-speaking Kokang region since fighting in 2015 left scores dead and forced tens of thousands to flee across the border into China.
Myanmar is already torn by various ethnic insurgencies. But the Kokang conflict has raised tensions with its giant neighbour.

Since coming to power last summer, President Rodrigo Duterte has used biblical language to build a case for mass killings, vowing to sacrifice himself, even his son, to cleanse the nation of crime.
Conjuring a world in which evil stalks the innocent, Duterte launched a wave of violence that has claimed at least 7,000 lives. With his critics cursed and shamed, and with public support for the president running high, the establishment, including the Roman Catholic Church, has for the most part stayed quiet.

Hạn – mặn nặng nề
Mùa khô 2015-2016, hạn hán, xâm nhập mặn đã ảnh hưởng đến 13 tỉnh, thành phố khu vực ĐBSCL, ước tính thiệt hại 5.500 tỷ đồng, trong đó sản xuất nông nghiệp bị thiệt hại nặng nề nhất với trên 160.000ha đất canh tác.
Các chuyên gia môi trường cho rằng, biến đổi khí hậu, nước biển dâng được xem là những vấn đề hệ trọng đối với vùng ĐBSCL. Hạn mặn lịch sử 2015 – 2016 cộng với tình hình nước lũ về giảm cho thấy ảnh hưởng của sự phát triển các công trình tích nước ở thượng lưu khiến dòng chảy thay đổi trái quy luật, làm trầm trọng thêm nguy cơ cạn kiệt nguồn nước.
