A South Korean court sentenced Choi Soon-sil, a longtime friend of ousted President Park Guen-hye, to three years in prison for bribery in the first of a string of criminal cases against her.

Students seek luck before exam at Temple of Literature

Students often visit Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, or Temple of Literature, in the days running up to their annual exams to pray for luck.

Many students are flocking to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, before their high school graduation exams which are scheduled to take place from June 22 to 24.

The temple, the main Confucian school in feudal times, was built in 1070 in the time of Emperor Ly Nhan Tong. It includes various pavilions, halls, statues and steles and is still venerated as place of respect. Modern students still indulge in this tradition.

Bộ QP TQ nói đó là vì “lý do liên quan đến việc sắp xếp làm việc”.  Nguồn tin từ phía Việt Nam (nặc danh) là hai bên cãi nhau trong cuộc họp kín về “những vùng tranh chấp về chủ quyền” ở Biển Đông.

Tướng Phạm thăm VN chính thức 2 ngày 18 và 19 tháng 6, 2017. Theo lịch đã sắp, thì ngày 20 đến 22/6 sẽ dùng cho Giao lưu hữu nghị Quốc phòng. Báo VN chẳng nói gì về chuyện tướng Phạm bỏ về. Một số báo Việt có tường thuật tướng Phạm gặp các lãnh đạo VN trong ngày 18/6. Nhưng tướng Phạm bỏ về cuối ngày 18, sau đó các bài báo đều được gỡ bỏ. A Dan Tri reporter recently attended the wedding ceremony of bride Tan U May and groom Tan A Hin in Pho Village, Ban Quam Commune. The event lasted for two days with most of the activities held at the groom’s family.
