A woman in northern Vietnam is being questioned by police for hanging her five-year-old foster daughter by the hands from a house beam as punishment for allegedly stealing a box of milk.
Footage of the torturous punishment was uploaded on social media on Saturday morning, sparking a wave of criticism from netizens.
Le Chi Thai, deputy chairman of Vinh Tuong District, Vinh Phuc Province, confirmed the incident to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday, saying that the girl’s relatives had picked her up from the foster family. Ba tôi làm đội trưởng đội rà phá bom mìn của NPA-RENEW trong nhiều năm. Ông là một trong những nhân viên kỹ thuật có kinh nghiệm nhất và giỏi nhất, luôn nỗ lực cố gắng học hỏi để hoàn thành tốt mọi nhiệm vụ với sự chuyên nghiệp đầy đủ. Ba là một người siêng năng, rất chịu khó. Ba sống chan hòa với người than, bạn bè, đồng nghiệp. Ông luôn tôn trọng mọi người.

Hàng triệu người dân Campuchia ngày 4/6 đi bỏ phiếu bầu cử tại nhiều xã, phường. Sau bầu cử địa phương, cuộc tổng tuyển cử tại Campuchia sẽ diễn ra vào tháng 7/2018 nhằm chọn ra đảng cầm quyền và thủ tướng.
Ủy ban Bầu cử Quốc gia Campuchia hôm nay công bố kết quả, cho thấy đảng Nhân dân Campuchia (CPP) của Thủ tướng Hun Sen thắng tại 1.156 trên tổng số 1.646 khu vực, AFP đưa tin. Đảng đối lập Cứu nguy Dân tộc Campuchia (CNRP) thắng tại 489 khu vực. Khu vực còn lại thuộc về một đảng thứ ba.
