“Tham nhũng vặt bây giờ cũng như thực phẩm bẩn, đang ngấm ngầm làm hại cả đất nước, khiến chúng ta không thể tiến lên được” – PGS-TS Đặng Ngọc Dinh – Giám đốc Trung tâm Nghiên cứu phát triển hỗ trợ cộng đồng – đã đưa ra sự so sánh như vậy.

Thực phẩm bẩn ngấm vào cơ thể của từng người, để rồi xâm hại sức khỏe của cả cộng đồng, nhiều người bệnh tật, dẫn đến suy yếu thể chất giống nòi. Một dân tộc mà nguồn nhân lực là con người bị bệnh tật, suy nhược về thể chất thì không thể tiến mà chỉ có lùi. Tham nhũng vặt như một lũ sâu mọt rúc rỉa cơ thể đất nước, cho đến lúc toàn thân bị phá hoại. Một cơ thể trọng bệnh thì không thể phát triển khỏe khoắn.

Tham nhũng vặt phải có hối lộ vặt. Dân mình đưa hối lộ nhiều quá đến nỗi quen tay, thành cố tật. Cho nên, đi lễ chùa hay tham quan đình miếu, phải hối lộ thánh thần mới yên tâm. Một sáng cuối tuần, gặp lại Miên Đức Thắng ở phòng trà Sienna (Sài Gòn), tôi mới biết cũng tại đây, anh vừa dự chương trình thơ nhạc “Nụ hoa vàng ngày xuân” tưởng niệm 10 năm ngày mất của nhà thơ Kim Tuấn (1938 – 2003) do Hội nhà văn TP tổ chức. Trong buổi sinh hoạt này, Miên Đức Thắng hát bản “Cứ chảy theo thời gian” mà thú vị là bản nhạc lại do anh phổ từ một bài thơ của chính mình viết để nhớ lần tiễn nhà thơ Kim Tuấn đến lò thiêu Bình Hưng Hòa. Long Bien – a bustling night fruit market in Hanoi

Situated at the foot of the Long Bien Bridge in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi, Long Bien fruit and vegetable market is known as the largest wholesale market in Hanoi and northern Vietnam as a whole.

The 27,000-square-meter market is open daily from 11 p.m. until the small hours of next morning as people rush there to buy and sell fruits and vegetables. The market is where vegetables and fruits are distributed to retailers and street vendors.

The colorful and bustling sight of the night market captures the attention of foreign visitors to the capital.

Many local residents in neighboring provinces also flock to the market to earn a living by providing transport services for traders at the market.

Fishing with long rackets on Hanoi’s Tich River

When the water level lowers in Tich River, the residents in Hanoi’s outlying district of Thach That will come out and submerge in the river with long rackets to catch the fish.

Catching fish with long rackets is considered a traditional culture of the people living by the river.

The locals often gather to catch fish in September or October in the lunar calendar.

During this time, the water level of the Tich River lowers greatly while fish in other lakes and rivers must go this way to reach the sea.

Chưa ở đâu tôi thấy nhiều biệt thự như xã Đại Hợp (huyện Kiến Thụy, Hải Phòng). Những công trình hoành tráng mọc lên san sát như bát úp. Đó là nhà của những người có con gái lấy chồng ngoại. Nhà nào có 1 cô thì to vừa, có 2 cô thì to bự, có 3 hay 4 cô thì như biệt phủ, biệt điện. Bởi thế mà câu hỏi quen thuộc của nhiều bà ở đây là: “Nhà chị có mấy đứa con lấy chồng ngoại?”.
