Putaleng in the ethnic Mông language was originally pronounced as Pu Ta Leng, with “Pu” meaning “mountain”. Located 3,049 metres above sea level on the Hoang Lien Son mountain range at Te Leng Village, Tam Duong Commune, Lai Chau Province, Pu Ta Leng is the second highest mountain in Indochina.

Dong Dinh Museum – Memory garden in Da Nang

Nestled on Son Tra Peninsula, Dong Dinh Museum is an ideal place for nature lovers. It is a peaceful place to see wonderful art and valuable antiques.

The museum is also a venue where nostalgic visitors can indulge in a garden of memory, which features recreations of garden houses and villages typical of the central region.

The museum opened to the public in 2011 and has become one of Da Nang’s tourist attractions.

Its owner, artist Doan Huy Giao, has spent more than 30 years collecting artefacts from across the country and another 10 years building his privately-owned museum, which is the first of its kind in the central region.

The Dong Dinh Museum – a Memory Garden is also a place where ecologic forests are conserved, the space of art-culture is promoted and traditional values are maintained.

British man found hanged on tourist boat in northern Vietnam

A 19-year old British man was found hanged on a tourist boat in the northern Vietnamese city of Hai Phong on Sunday night.

Leaders of the local People’s Committee confirmed the tourist’s death on Monday night, saying the 19-year-old had hung himself on a Cong Nghia tourist boat during a trip around the Cat Ba archipelago, located in Cat Hai District, Hai Phong.
