A woman in northern Vietnam is being questioned by police for hanging her five-year-old foster daughter by the hands from a house beam as punishment for allegedly stealing a box of milk.

Footage of the torturous punishment was uploaded on social media on Saturday morning, sparking a wave of criticism from netizens.

Le Chi Thai, deputy chairman of Vinh Tuong District, Vinh Phuc Province, confirmed the incident to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Monday, saying that the girl’s relatives had picked her up from the foster family. Phát hiện bom nặng 340 kg ở sâu dưới ruộng lúa gần cảng Cửa Việt

Triệu Phong, Quảng Trị (26-6-20170) — Các đội rà phá Dự án RENEW – NPA ngày hôm nay vừa phá hủy an toàn một quả bom nặng 340 kg được tìm thấy ở ruộng lúa thôn Hà Tây, xã Triệu An, cách khoảng 1 km với Cảng Cửa Việt, trước đây từng là căn cứ hỗ trợ và hậu cần cho các đơn vị lính thủy đánh bộ Mỹ dọc theo khu vực phi quân sự cũ.

Nhiệm vụ xử lý bom được tiến hành sau khi Bộ Chỉ huy quân sự tỉnh yêu cầu RENEW-NPA tiếp ứng một phát hiện bom do chính quyền xã Triệu An báo cáo ngày Chủ nhật.
