The bay spans 16 square kilometers and is the main fishing ground for many fishermen in the central province. Its serene landscape, especially at dawn and sunset, attracts a large number of visitors from near and far.
Many tourists also come to Vung Ro to learn about historical sites. In the 1960s, Vung Ro was a venue used by revolutionary soldiers to transport weapons by vessel from the north to the south.

The truth about the lie of the land

Sound advice when land is turned into a commodity that is bought and sold in a “free market,” but this is a mythical entity for many people in Vietnam, because they can only dream of owning a piece of land or a home in the nation’s urban areas.
Theoretically, though, as per the nation’s charter, all of the country’s geographical features – land, water bodies, underground minerals as well as resources deep under the sea belong to “the people,” but the State represents the people in managing them – making the State the highest authority.
It is but natural then that the State’s management of this most precious resource comes under close, critical scrutiny.
The onus, then, is on the Vietnamese State to manage this resource effectively and equitably, and despite some major steps taken in the past towards equitable distribution, its record of late has left a lot to be desired. Tiếp tục đọc “The truth about the lie of the land”

How the coffee industry is about to get roasted by climate change
Fall is always a good time to create new habits, and coffee chains know it.
These days, they are desperately trying to find any excuse to get you to drink their java.
Many chains used National or International Coffee Day, just passed, as a reason to offer their coffee at a discount, or even for free — with some conditions, of course.
For restaurant operators, there’s no better hook than coffee to get repeat business. It’s a great scheme that seems to be working for some. Given what’s looming on the horizon, however, offering free coffee may no longer be an option for businesses.
Coffee demand around the world is shifting. Europe still accounts for almost one third of the coffee consumed worldwide, but China has doubled its consumption in just the last five years. Tiếp tục đọc “How the coffee industry is about to get roasted by climate change”

ASEAN plans to enhance the quality of human resources in the region and forming a regional identity, while contributing to economic growth. Among the various action plans set out at the 14th ASEAN Summit in Cha-Am Hua-in in 2009, regionalisation of higher education profiles was high on the agenda.
