VietNamNet Bridge – Co Loa Citadel was built near Phong Khe, about 20 km to the north of today’s Hanoi, during the end of the Hong Bang Dynasty (about 257 BCE). The fortress is a spiral-shaped complex of the then new capital. The site was the source of various relics of the Dong Son culture of the Bronze Age.
According to folklore, An Duong Vuong defeated the last of the Hung Kings in 257 BCE and founded the kingdom of Au Lac, choosing the site of Co Loa as his capital.

Viet Nam News KHÁNH HÒA — The 2017 Nha Trang Sea Festival, themed “Extending the Circle of Friendship”, opened Saturday night in the central province of Khánh Hòa, with a wide array of artistic, cultural and sporting activities.

A photographer believes that the Dai Ky Yen Festival in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam is the country’s ‘merriest festival’.
Photographer Huynh Phuc Hau has captured photos of a Dai Ky Yen celebration in his hometown in Binh Thuy Commune, Chau Phu District of An Giang Province.

The Vietnam – Asia silk culture festival is scheduled to run in Hoi An silk village in the central province of Quang Nam between June 11 and 14.
The event aims at promoting and preserving the value of traditional silk villages across Vietnam, including Van Phuc (Hanoi), Hoi An and Ma Chau (Quang Nam), and Bao Loc (the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong), among others.

Lễ hội Minh thệ diễn ra từ ngày 14 đến hết ngày 16 tháng Giêng âm lịch hàng năm. Tương truyền, từ giữa thế kỷ 16, vợ của Thái Thượng hoàng Mạc Đăng Dung là Thái hoàng Thái hậu Vũ Thị Ngọc Toản đã đến ấp Lan Niểu (thôn Hoà Liễu, xã Thuận Thiên, huyện Kiến Thụy, thành phố Hải Phòng ngày nay) tự bỏ tiền và vận động hoàng thân quốc thích, quan lại triều Mạc cả thảy 35 vị góp tiền của để tu tạo lại ngôi chùa cổ. Choi Chnam Thmay is the traditional New Year of the Khmer people living in the Mekong Delta. It takes place from April 13 to 15, bringing crowds to pagodas to worship Buddha. Traditional customs like bathing the Buddha statue, and wearing wish bracelets, as well as music and dance performances, are also offered.

A ten-meter tall model of the cinematic beast King Kong caught fire on Thursday at the Ho Chi Minh City premiere of ‘Kong: Skull Island’.
The ceremony was held in front of the SC Vivo City shopping mall in District 7, where government officials, U.S. diplomats, celebrities, and representatives from Warner Bros. Pictures gathered to celebrate the opening of the first Hollywood blockbuster to be shot mainly in Vietnam.
Towering of the ceremony’s stage was a ten-meter tall model of King Kong, the enormous fictional ape-like beast whose name was given to the film’s title.
