Hôm nay, trả lời câu hỏi của phóng viên về bình luận của Việt Nam trước phát biểu của Tổng thống Donald Trump trong Thông điệp Liên bang đề cập đến việc thượng đỉnh giữa Hoa Kỳ và Triều Tiên dự kiến diễn ra tại Việt Nam ngày 27-28/2, người phát ngôn Bộ Ngoại giao Lê Thị Thu Hằng nêu rõ:

TTCT– Đề nghị nối lại đàm phán hai miền Nam Bắc Triều Tiên của ông Kim Jong Un trong thông điệp đầu năm 2018 không là một bất ngờ, mà là một diễn biến tất yếu.

Ông Kim đã chọn văn phòng Trung ương Đảng Lao động Triều Tiên để đọc bài diễn văn chúc mừng năm mới, hoan ca thắng lợi này, và dùng đại từ “tôi” trong xưng hô để khẳng định vai trò lãnh đạo tối cao của ông với toàn thể Đảng Lao động.

Việc sử dụng đại từ “tôi”, vốn quen thuộc ở những chế độ mà vai trò – chiếc ghế lãnh đạo đồng nhất với trách nhiệm và tài trí cá nhân – người lãnh đạo, gián tiếp quả quyết ông Kim là “tác giả” của những chiến thắng này.

Từ vị trí đó, nhân danh Đảng Lao động và Chính phủ Triều Tiên, ông “chân thành cảm ơn nhân dân và quân đội Triều Tiên đã giành chiến thắng” có một không hai trong “lịch sử 5.000 năm” của đất nước này: một cách nói khác để khẳng định rằng CHDCND Triều Tiên (và ông) mới là Triều Tiên “chính tông”, chứ không phải Hàn Quốc. North Korea is prepared to use its stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons if war broke out with the U.S. and its allies, according to a letter Pentagon chiefs sent to lawmakers.

The letter, written by Rear Adm. Michael J. Dumont, the vice director of the Pentagon’s Joint Staff, details how a conflict between North Korea and the U.S. could play out. WASHINGTON: US bombers overflew the Korean peninsula Thursday (Nov 2) as part of an exercise with Japanese and South Korean warplanes, the US Air Force said, days before President Donald Trump arrives in the region for a trip set to be dominated by the nuclear-armed North.

Pyongyang (CNN)A senior North Korean official has issued a stern warning to the world that it should take “literally” his country’s threat to test a nuclear weapon above ground.

The official, Ri Yong Pil, told CNN in an exclusive conversation in Pyongyang that the threat made by North Korea’s foreign minister last month should not be dismissed. North Korea “has always brought its words into action,” Ri said, visibly angry.

Speaking on a visit to New York for the United Nations General Assembly last month, Ri Yong Ho, the foreign minister, raised the possibility that North Korea could test a powerful hydrogen bomb over the Pacific Ocean. The threat came hours after US President Donald Trump threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea in a speech to the UN.

SEOUL: South Korea and the United States began week-long joint Navy drills in the waters around the Korean peninsula on Monday (Oct 16), amid high tensions over North Korea’s nuclear and missile programme.

About 40 Navy ships from both countries, including the nuclear-powered USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier, are taking part in the exercises on the east and west coasts of the peninsula from Oct 16 to Oct 20, a spokesman for the South’s defence ministry said on Monday. SEOUL: The U.S. military flew two Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers over the Korean peninsula in a show of force late on Tuesday amid high tensions over North Korea’s nuclear and missile programmes, South Korea’s military said.
