TTCT – Nhóm Sài Gòn Xanh thành lập tháng 12-2022 do hai bạn trẻ Nguyễn Lương Ngọc và Hồ Văn Vĩ khởi xướng. Đến nay, nhóm có 50 thành viên thường trực và hơn 1.400 tình nguyện viên.

Họ đã bắt đầu đi dọn rác trên kênh từ tháng 12-2022. Họ đã dọn được hơn 2.000 tấn rác từ 150 dòng kênh ở nhiều tỉnh thành. Nhưng “Một nhóm Sài Gòn Xanh dọn không hết rác, 1.000 nhóm dọn cũng không hết rác, chỉ khi mỗi người không xả rác thì mới hết rác” – lời của nhóm Sài Gòn Xanh.

Sáng sớm, Nguyễn Vũ Hùng – sinh viên Trường ĐH Khoa học Tự nhiên (ĐH Quốc gia TP.HCM) – chạy xe từ TP Thủ Đức đến gửi gần cầu Rạch Lăng (quận Bình Thạnh) để tham gia vớt rác với các bạn mình trong nhóm Sài Gòn Xanh. 

Mặc đồ bảo hộ (gồm áo phao, quần yếm, ủng, ba loại găng tay), Hùng lội xuống dòng kênh bùn sình đen kịt, gỡ từng giề lục bình ra khỏi phao chắn rác rồi chuyển lên bờ.

Students killed in Bangladesh job-quota protests

At least six students have been killed and over a hundred injured in protests calling for an end to civil service job quotas in Bangladesh. The violence in the capital Dhaka on July 16, 2024, was the latest flare-up in a deepening conflict over the issue. Hundreds of university students demonstrated against the local government job allocation system, which currently favours children of pro-government groups who back Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Thousands have taken part in protests in several cities since July 7.

TTCT – Chuyện sinh viên Mỹ biểu tình trong khuôn viên nhà trường không có gì lạ, nhưng khi ban giám hiệu Đại học Columbia kêu cảnh sát tới giải tán sinh viên rồi bắt đi hơn 100 người, vụ việc trở nên lớn chuyện.

Các cuộc biểu tình tương tự lan rộng ra các trường đại học, kéo theo nhiều vụ bắt bớ khác.

2h chiều thứ tư 17-4, hiệu trưởng Đại học Columbia, bà Minouche Shafik, bước ra khỏi tòa nhà Quốc hội Mỹ, thở phào nhẹ nhõm. Bà tưởng đâu đã thoát tình cảnh như hai đồng nghiệp, hiệu trưởng Đại học Harvard Claudine Gay và Đại học Pennsylvania (UPenn) Liz Magill từng rơi vào, khi bị mời ra điều trần trước Ủy ban Giáo dục Hạ viện. 

Hai bà này trả lời lấp lửng, còn tùy bối cảnh, khi được hỏi việc kêu gọi diệt chủng dân Do Thái có vi phạm nội quy ứng xử của nhà trường không. Dư luận phản ứng dữ dội, hai bà lần lượt phải từ chức.

Tính đến ngày 27-4 (giờ Việt Nam), các sinh viên đã dựng lều phản đối trong khuôn viên của ít nhất 50 trường đại học, cao đẳng ở Mỹ, từ các trường nổi tiếng trong nhóm Ivy League cho đến các trường công lập. Nhiều sinh viên cho biết sẽ không dừng việc biểu tình cho đến khi yêu cầu được đáp ứng.

In her first month working as a content creation executive at a Ho Chi Minh City media company, Nga realized several inefficiencies in the workflow. She often received last-minute requests at 11 p.m. or midnight to complete tasks urgently by 6-7 a.m. the next morning. She was also asked to always be ready to answer calls from her supervisor, even after working hours, regardless of what she was doing when the call came.

Whether they return home or stay abroad, Vietnamese graduates of foreign schools often have difficulty finding their place.

For several months since she graduated with a marketing degree from a university in Canada, Thanh Thao, 26, has not been able to find a job on her chosen career path.

Thao said international students like her regularly learn the hard way that recruiters abroad tend to favor local employment candidates.

“It’s quite hard to find a job. And I could not find satisfying work that matches my qualifications.”

At Thursday’s forum, experts shared insights into the role of digital transformation and offered advice on safeguarding online information. They also highlighted the pivotal role youth and students play in spearheading digital transformation and ensuring cyber security.

When Kieu Oanh heard that the latest new drink, hand-pounded lemon tea, had become popular in Hanoi, she did not hesitate to travel 30 km from Bac Ninh to stand in line.

This is not the first time the 24-year-old girl was quick to try out foods that had gone viral on social media. Whenever she discovered a new food or hangout spot within a 200 km radius, she invited her friends to go with her.

“Instead of listening to other people’s experiences, I want to experience it myself,” the office worker said.
