Phụ nữ bán dâm tại Việt Nam đang phải chịu hai dạng kỳ thị. Thứ nhất là do bán dâm bị coi là “tệ nạn xã hội”; và thứ hai, sự kỳ thị sâu xa hơn là bất bình đẳng giới ở Việt Nam.

(TBKTSG) – Người nhập cư đã, đang và sẽ tiếp tục là lực lượng lao động chủ chốt ở các khu vực đô thị lớn, góp phần làm nên công cuộc thay đổi cơ cấu kinh tế quan trọng của đất nước trong vòng 15 năm tới, nhưng có rất ít chính sách, quy hoạch và chiến lược chuẩn bị và hỗ trợ cho sự dịch chuyển lớn này. Our research and high-level debates on the crisis in the Mediterranean and, more recently, on the Syrian refugee crisis, examine how we can meet these global challenges – and the role of international development to better manage global migration.
Through research, events, media engagement and partnerships, ODI offers evidence to lay bare the political and economic realities of migration and to inform the public debate.
Specifically, we focus on three areas: refugees and displacement, European migration policy and human mobility.

Di cư trong nước đã trở thành một vấn đề phát triển, có ý nghĩa kinh tế-xã hội quan trọng đối với cả nông thôn và thành thị trong những năm gần đây ở việt Nam. Refugee crises have emerged in places as far-flung as Southeast Asia – where Myanmar’s minority Rohingya Muslims are seeking better fortunes abroad – and in the Mediterranean Sea. The rights of migrant workers are routinely violated and even more so when their immigration status is irregular, said UN Human Rights Chief, Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein.
“Not only are they often denied even the most basic labour protections, personal security, due process guarantees, healthcare and, in the case of their children, education; they may also face abuses at international borders, including prolonged detention or ill-treatment. And in some cases they risk being trafficked, enslaved, sexually assaulted or murdered,” he described.
Zeid was speaking at a panel discussion which marked the 25th anniversary of the convention on migrant workers that not only analysed migration trends, but also sought the views of countries of destination of migration on their response to challenges in protecting migrants’ rights.
