In May when the sound of cicadas signals the advent of summer, giant purple crape-myrtle flowers (known as bang lang) bloom in many streets of Hanoi.
Despite blooming for a short time, the bright purple of this kind of flower brings a poetic beauty to the capital in the early summer days.

Ta Hien Street in Hanoi Old Quarter which is often called as Pho Tay (Foreigner Street) is busier at night, particularly at the weekend with large numbers of foreigners.
Along the street which is just more than 200 metres long are French-styled old houses.

Blooming mulberry season in Hanoi
The last days of March and early April is the busy period for local farmers in the mudflat areas along the Red and Day Rivers, as the mulberry harvest season begins.
In Hiep Thuan commune, Hanoi’s Phuc Tho district, in recent years, local people have transformed their crops from corn and peanuts to mulberry farming which has helped to bring about high economic efficiency.

Hà Nội: 2 Giám đốc Sở đồng lòng cấm xe máy càng sớm càng tốt

Giám đốc Sở GTVT và TN&MT Hà Nội đều cho rằng, TP cấm được xe máy càng sớm càng tốt.
Tại cuộc làm việc của Bí thư Thành uỷ Hà Nội Hoàng Trung Hải với Sở GTVT hôm nay, Giám đốc Sở Vũ Văn Viện cho biết, Sở đang nghiên cứu để trình UBND, UBND trình HĐND 2 đề án.
Thứ nhất là xây dựng lộ trình giảm dần, tiến tới dừng hoạt động của xe máy tại các quận vào năm 2030. Trong lộ trình có tính tới dừng đăng ký mới xe máy, việc này Sở đang cùng Viện chiến lược bàn.

NDO – In the early days of spring, Hanoi features a romantic beauty, when the yellow and red colours of the leaves are dyed brilliantly in a familiar corner. The rows of Bang lang (Giant Crape-myrtle) tree, Loc vung (Barringtonia acutangula) trees are changing the colour. In the background of the blue sky, each of the yellow leaves, the red leaves, sway lightly in the wind.

Hà Nội gần 3 triệu dân không nước sạch

Cánh cửa căn phòng phẫu thuật lạnh toát đóng lại, nhiều người khóc ngất lên, ngất xuống vì phải phá bỏ giọt máu của mình. Những cảm xúc giằng xé trong tâm trí họ. Nhưng sau đó ít ai còn để ý và bận tâm “liệu rằng giọt máu của mình sẽ đi về đâu”?
Có những cháu được bố mẹ đưa về chôn cất, khâm liệm tử tế, nhưng đại đa số các cháu bị bỏ mặc cho người ta thả vào bồn cầu và giật nước, hoặc cho vào túi nilon và trở thành “rác thải y tế”. Những cháu may mắn hơn thì được đưa về một “nơi ở” mới, nơi đó có lẽ các cháu có thể cởi bỏ được oán hận mà khóc, mà cười.
