I think both country has its own problems to deal with in order to growth.

If you look at Philippines economy easy to see why Philippines falling behind Vietnam. The starting point between the two were miles away when Vietnam was a poorest country after 70 while Philippines was already a star, but then it took Vietnam about 25 years to surpassed Philippines and during that period, Vietnam focus on one thing create a enviroment that could attract FDI and help the local to start standing on its feet once these FDIs leave.

The Philippines plans to file a “strong” protest against China after it announced preparatory work for an environmental monitoring station on a shoal in the South China Sea, as President Rodrigo Duterte called for regional guidelines governing the disputed area.

Justice Minister Vitaliano Aguirre told reporters in Manila on Tuesday the government would file a complaint against Beijing’s plan to construct a radar station on Scarborough Shoal.

MANILA — A world of sin. A weary savior. Filipinos know the story well.

Since coming to power last summer, President Rodrigo Duterte has used biblical language to build a case for mass killings, vowing to sacrifice himself, even his son, to cleanse the nation of crime.

Conjuring a world in which evil stalks the innocent, Duterte launched a wave of violence that has claimed at least 7,000 lives. With his critics cursed and shamed, and with public support for the president running high, the establishment, including the Roman Catholic Church, has for the most part stayed quiet.

But now, more than seven months into Duterte’s tenure, with the death toll climbing night by night, the country’s Catholic hierarchy is finding its voice. In a pastoral letter published in February, church leaders denounced Duterte’s campaign as a “reign of terror” against the poor. Trả lời phỏng vấn của đài truyền hình Phượng Hoàng – Hong Kong, trước khi đi thăm TQ, Tổng thống Duterte nói rằng nếu xảy ra chiến tranh, nước Mỹ sẽ không hy sinh vì Philippines. Có lẽ ở trong chăn nên ông Duterte biết có rận. Có lẽ ông không biết rằng vị trí là đồng minh Mỹ của nước ông đang là ao ước của nhiều người dân một số nước khác.

Cleantechnica – Prospective solar power project developers in the Philippines have again called upon the government to increase the capacity eligible for higher feed-in tariffs.

The Philippine Solar Power Alliance has urged the government to increase the capacity eligible for higher feed-in tariff from 500 MW to 2 GW.

The recommendation comes following the government’s announcement to increase renewable energy capacity addition targets. The government initially offered a higher target of P9.68/kWh (US¢21.41/kWh) for just 50 MW solar power capacity, though the cap was subsequently increased to 500 MW. Developers now want a second revision to the cap.

As the 500 MW cap has been achieved, the project developers are now eligible for a revised tariff of P8.69/kWh (US¢19.22/kWh). These tariffs will be applicable for a period of 20 years.

The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has also revised the original cap for wind energy sector from 200 MW to 400 MW. The original tariff offered to wind energy project developers was P8.53/kWh (US¢18.87/kWh) which is proposed to be revised to P7.93/kWh (US¢17.54/kWh).
